One of my first thoughts this morning was just that --- we are ready to let go of something but it's "sticky-stuck". I heard to double down on the water to help get things moving and go aid in your release.

For example...

Religion as a word has an arguable history. The one part that is universal though, is the "RE" aspect. Re means to return to or to go back.

Which make sense because if you are placing your trust in an external source, if you are placing your measurement of worth in an external source - you will always have to return to that source.

The etymology of "Spirit" originally referred to breathing, the breath, the breath or mind of God.

How many of us find our deepest connections to Spirit when we are meditating (in whatever form be it art or nature or silence) or when we are breathing through something which requires more focus on our breathing?

Where does that connection reside?

I think by now many of us acknowledge the divinity of what comes to us in those private moments, but we tend to still battle with the "little ol me" mentality because generation after generation we were good horses being led to the water.

Honestly I don't even care about spiritual vs religious bc I think that's another pre-scribed war in the making. But I did find the etymologies interesting.

Because there are those who seek an elevated persona as "spiritual leader" who have been leading people into systems of control where you HAVE to "return to" them in order to continue your "ascension" or "enlightenment" or whatever else. They have created their own religion, whilst claiming to be spiritual and against religion. It is the easiest thing for any leader to do without totally realizing the underlying manipulation tactics they deploy to keep building their empire because of how social revenue streams are designed to keep you coming back for more.

Does it not sound familiar? Was Christianity itself founded with this same scheme in mind? Do you think it's founders (not the writers...they were always pawns...) would have invested as much time in not only combining and co-signing their believed "truth" --- but also to persecute to the degree of genocide and book burning in order to prevent any other possible perspectives from being allowed to exist --- if they weren't getting power and fortune from it? Control? So what
.. they did all of that out of the gentle, pure, Christlike goodness in their hearts?? What? Was it all a justified and necessary sacrifice for the betterment of the whole? Or is that another group of Christians who "took it too far" and "don't count". At what point does the entire religion take accountability for the attitude it cultivates and fosters through it's ideologies which divides and destroys families, communities?

Let me be clear...There are seasons where we need different leaders. Where we need different religions. They teach us things because they are all littered with truth because they are all pieced together from someone else's spiritual experiences. We can gain wisdom and value by studying them. And there are teachers who share their wisdom and encourage you to find it for yourself without the manipulation to get you to return to them. I hope I am counted amongst them.

But what is the purpose of a teacher?

A teacher is meant to expand knowledge of a particular subject.

For a period of time.

Any teacher can regurgitate information, can read from different books.

An effective teacher helps you learn how to go fish on your own and to NOT become dependent, but quite the opposite. They empower you. They show you how YOU are powerful in YOUR own right, with or without said teacher.

That is all.

Any teacher you encounter should be enabling you to take what you learn and go out on your own to use it and teach it to others. They should be enabling you; not trying to keep you…
And certainly not trying to take credit for the knowledge they are GIVING you. If there are strings attached, it is not a gift. And if it’s not a gift, then they are trying to lay claim to it and ownership of it. In some instances, that is ok. In Universal Truths, it is not.

In spiritual relationships, there should NEVER be an arrangement where you need the teacher and/or the school as a constant, continuing part of your life. The goal should always be to teach you to fly.

I learned something really significant for myself today and I want to share it in the hopes that it might help someone else.

I have lived under the oppressive influence of a narcissistic mother for my entire life. Over the past few years I have come to understand the depths of that influence. The damage it has done and the pain and confusion it has caused.

Today, I finally aired many of the things that had been weighing on my heart. I knew she wouldn’t be able to actually hear me or accept what I said, but I did it anyway from a place of honesty. Sure enough, she proved that she didn’t hear or accept a fucking word of it 😂

But guess what happened? My depression lifted. I happily went out for some exercise- something I had been denying myself and struggling with for months.
And as soon as I said what I needed to say, the lead weights on me lifted and I immediately felt better and more energetic than I have in a long time.

My message is this: whatever you need to say, say it. As kindly as you can manage. It doesn’t matter what happens after that; you will be freed from the bondage of unspoken Truth.

We were designed to express. It is in our expression, using our innate senses to influence our dominant senses, that we allow the energy we feel within to flow out to the world around us.
