Learn to Love your Shadow.
The Shadow is important and Love is the answer for two reasons:
1) It is a necessary part of all of us that helps us to grow. Without it, there would be no adversary, no opposing force that challenges us to evolve. There would be no “choice”. It’s only by being offered a choice that we have the opportunity to opt for one road or another.
And…
2) The only way to truly “defeat” it is to Love it. You cannot approach your Shadow with judgement and condemnation and expect to do anything but create more.
The ONLY way to conquer it is to face it and to shine the Light of your Awareness onto it…to offer it Unconditional Love.
The reason the Shadow persists and causes us to suffer is out of a lack of Love and the illusion of separation. It does not need more hate. YOU do not need more hate. That only compounds the issue.
These are subtle adjustments in how we view things, but they make all the difference.
We ARE Dualistic Beings. And we live in a world of Duality. Without it, we actually have no world. At least not a physical one, because it is the dance between opposing forces that creates everything here.
You are a fractal of God encased in earthly flesh. That is your “cross” to bear and is the source of your struggle. Your earthly desires and limitations are the very things that act as catalysts to evolve your Soul.

Forgiveness is not something you can force.
You cannot just decide to forgive someone because you think it’s what you’re supposed to do.
It arises from within you WHEN YOU’RE READY. And not a moment sooner.
If you find yourself in a position of feeling like you’re supposed to forgive, but it’s just not happening yet, please try to just accept that. It’s ok. You’re not a bad person because you’re not ready yet.
I’m not saying, “Sure, go ahead and hold a grudge indefinitely.” What I’m saying is — Trust your innate wisdom to work through the pain. Trust that Authenticity and Honesty will always lead you out of darkness. Not into it.
Do that without judgement and without fear of getting it wrong and trust that the process will lead you to Healing. When you get there, the Forgiveness will come all on its own and blossom into your Heart.
Let go of how you think things are supposed to be and embrace what they actually ARE.
That is the road to Peace.

PS - The Church, and frankly much of the Spiritual Community, is chock full of false-forgiveness and self-righteous condescension posing as Love and reconciliation. It teaches you to pretend to forgive before you’re ready and to feel guilty if you can’t.
See it for what it is and stay true to your inner wisdom.
The Christ Within is your compass.
