Learn to Love your Shadow.
The Shadow is important and Love is the answer for two reasons:
1) It is a necessary part of all of us that helps us to grow. Without it, there would be no adversary, no opposing force that challenges us to evolve. There would be no “choice”. It’s only by being offered a choice that we have the opportunity to opt for one road or another.
And…
2) The only way to truly “defeat” it is to Love it. You cannot approach your Shadow with judgement and condemnation and expect to do anything but create more.
The ONLY way to conquer it is to face it and to shine the Light of your Awareness onto it…to offer it Unconditional Love.
The reason the Shadow persists and causes us to suffer is out of a lack of Love and the illusion of separation. It does not need more hate. YOU do not need more hate. That only compounds the issue.

The Shadow is important and Love is the answer for two reasons:

And…

Forgiveness is not something you can force.
You cannot just decide to forgive someone because you think it’s what you’re supposed to do.
It arises from within you WHEN YOU’RE READY. And not a moment sooner.
If you find yourself in a position of feeling like you’re supposed to forgive, but it’s just not happening yet, please try to just accept that. It’s ok. You’re not a bad person because you’re not ready yet.
I’m not saying, “Sure, go ahead and hold a grudge indefinitely.” What I’m saying is — Trust your innate wisdom to work through the pain. Trust that Authenticity and Honesty will always lead you out of darkness. Not into it.
Do that without judgement and without fear of getting it wrong and trust that the process will lead you to Healing. When you get there, the Forgiveness will come all on its own and blossom into your Heart.
Let go of how you think things are supposed to be and embrace what they actually ARE.
That is the road to Peace.

PS - The Church, and frankly much of the Spiritual Community, is chock full of false-forgiveness and self-righteous condescension posing as Love and reconciliation. It teaches you to pretend to forgive before you’re ready and to feel guilty if you can’t.
See it for what it is and stay true to your inner wisdom.

TRIGGER WARNING
I’m going to say something that’s probably going to piss some people off. But it needs to be said because it’s something to get your head around and I will explain why as we go.
There’s no such thing as The Ten Commandments. Not in the way we’ve been taught.
That list is a construct that was built to enslave your mind.
There is no set of rules for you to follow in order to “be good”. That’s all crap. I suppose you could say the commandments are “a thing” because people have made them into one and much effort and energy has been applied to them. The church certainly did because IMO it INVENTED them to keep you thinking you need external guidance and to prevent you from looking inward for what to do in any given situation.
Look, most people pretty much know the 10 Commandments, right? Even people who aren’t religious know what they are. And more importantly, most people believe that they are necessary, because they believe that people need to be told what to do.
But you don’t. And God did not decree a list of rules down to His Creations to keep them in line.
You don’t need a list of do’s and don’ts in order to live honorably. You have the GodSpark inside of you! And God is not up there waiting to see if you do what He said.
What would be the point of Free Will if you were given choices and then punished for choosing “wrongly”. That’s actually coercion, and that’s the system you’ve been conditioned to believe in and the method of thinking you’ve been taught to apply across the board in this life.
We’ve been taught that deep down we are “bad” and need to be reined in in order to earn a state of Holiness. Don’t you see?
THIS is the root of your fear, pain, shame and anger towards others. You’ve been taught that you cannot trust your own Nature, so surely you cannot trust others. And this causes us to doubt and judge them in an attempt to bring order to the chaos in our OWN minds.
When, in reality, your True Nature comes straight from the Creator and is anything but “bad”. Every single part of this fucking Matrix that has been built to enslave you exists to cover up the Truth of WHAT YOU ARE; because as soon as you figure that out, you become UNCONTROLLABLE. And control is the name of the game down here.
So, nope to the list. You get to choose. There is no punishment from God for what you do. Now, there are certainly consequences for your actions and they can seem like punishments, but they’re really just the logical reaction to your own input into the Universe. If you want to be an asshole, fine. But that frequency will come right back to you with your signature on it, so it’s really not a good idea. But…it’s totally up to you.
When you open your Heart and begin to live HONESTLY in line with your Soul, when your head and your Heart align, when you stop letting your Ego be dragged around by the nose (or the sex organs), you will automatically live a life that aligns with Creation. But these will become your own Commitments. They will be things that you just do because they feel right. It will be almost impossible for you to treat others badly. You will never take a life for frivolous reasons. You will honor the Creator in all that you do. And you will do these things by CHOICE. Not out of fear of what may happen to you if you don’t. See the difference?
I’m sorry if I’ve upset anyone and I know it seems like I do it on purpose, but I don’t. I do it because I wish for all beings to live free and sovereign. I wish for all beings to awaken to their True Nature. Because only then are we able to TRULY Love Unconditionally. You may think you’re capable of it regardless of your beliefs, but until the fear is out of the way, you carry that vibration inside of you. And you radiate it out to the world.
The fear needs to go. And believing that you need not fear your god because you are doing everything “right” is NOT the absence of fear. It’s actually the opposite and it’s the most powerful form of manipulation there is.

Some thoughts on TR’s post above ☝🏻
I think it’s important to note that the Ten Commandments were given in the Old Testament, in which we see a much different “God” than we do in the New.
The difference between old and new testaments that make the most sense to me is that the Old represents the healing of the lower, more primal, more brutal chakras. So the commandments could be seen as necessary to develop the consciousness needed to rise out of Egypt and slave consciousness, to the heart, where the New Testament begins and where Christ consciousness (Unity - non-violence & the Golden Rule because all is Self) begins.
But, just as we see now with the hobbits having to be drip fed Truth slowly, those who are in lower chakra consciousness (and remember we’re not talking necessarily about historical groups, but an archetypal and psychological truth of human conscious evolution), these need to be guided in a way that resonates: solar plexus demands the proper use of personal power, the sacral the prohibition of sexual misuse, and the root admonishes violence… Christ’s esoteric message probably would resonate with those on this level about as well as me telling my friends (which I did and was crucified) “the Matrix movie is real”, all them years ago.
It’s interesting that Baphomet is usually depicted with his kundalini stopping at his solar plexus (ego-will). Perhaps the Ten Commandments help you move past that blockage - The “Devil”, after all, is that limiting, materialism ideology and the Master Slave dynamic (another lens through which to see those Ten Commandments), which prevents Care (the Heart) unfolding in our being.
And lastly, on the idea that a “good” person should do “everything right” to be loved by God prevents his wholing. only by re-cognising and re-minding our Shadow aspects - I.e. being willing to be/ do wrong sometimes - do we find Wholeness. Acceptance = consciousness = the ability to respond in a more heart-centred way. In a more Christ-like/ Buddha-like/ Krishna-like way.
