#YURI Infrastructure across all Ukraine, from Lvov to Sumy and Kharkov, hit this afternoon in a massive Russian strike of missiles and drones, in apparent reponse to Ukrainian attacks of Belgorod city and Kursk region of Russia. Apparently, the exchange won’t stop in the coming days.

Battles in Bakhmut continue, no definitive outcome so far. The core of the defenders of Bakhmut on Ukrainian side are are not the AFU members anymore, but the mercenary units. Svatovo - Ukrainian attempts to probe the Russian defences, unsuccessful so far, but the enemy group there remains strong enough for at least a local offensive towards the town of Svatovo itself. Kherson - the distraction attack almost becoming customary, repulsed.

Increasing number of reports indicate that the AFU may attempt a serious offensive on Zaporozhye direction tomorrow, on the Ukrainian Army Day, or soon, towards Melitopol and Berdyansk.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ Chronicle of the Special Military Operation for 13 Oct 2022⚡️

The Russian Armed Forces have continued shelling infrastructure and military facilities in #Ukraine. A logistics terminal in #Nalivaykovka in #Kiev Region, which allegedly housed a warehouse of lend-lease weapons and equipment, was hit.

Several explosions occurred in #Zolochev in #Lvov Region and other regions of western #Ukraine.

#Russian Federation Border Territories:

▪️ In the afternoon, the AFU shelled #Belgorod again. Air defence intercepted the targets, but the wreckage of one of the missiles fell on the roof of a multi-storey building.

At the same time the enemy struck an ammunition depot in the village of #Oktyabrsky. Another strike hit the #Shebekino border crossing.

There were no civilian casualties.

▪️ In the #Kursk region, Ukrainian militants hit an electrical transformer near the villages of #Tetkino and Popovo-Lezhachi, disabling both for several hours. The enemy also shelled #Guevo and damaged several civilian buildings.

#Starobelsk Direction (MAP):

▪️ In the #Kupyansk area, the AFU grouping, consisting of the 14th Mechanized Brigade and the 32nd Separate Combined Battalion of the Territorial Defence tried to storm Russian army positions on the #Kislovka - #Pershotravnevoye line, but suffered losses and withdrew.

▪️ Units of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade tried to entrench near #Kotlyarovka, but also retreated with losses. During the day, the AFU in the #Kupyansk sector lost about 50 personnel and 10 pieces of equipment .

▪️ In the #Lyman - #Svatovo section, Ukrainian formations are still gathering forces for an attack towards #Kremennaya. Near #Ternov a large combined grouping of several battalions of the AFU and AFU Territorial Defence has been formed.

#Soledar Direction:

▪️ There are no significant changes to the front line, the AFU is preparing for a Russian offensive on #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk).

#Donetsk Direction:

▪️ Ukrainian militants once again shelled #Donetsk, #Yasinovataya, #Gorlovka, #Makeevka and other surrounding settlements.

#Zaporozhye Direction:

▪️ In #Zaporozhye region, the enemy is preparing for a large-scale counterattack along the entire front line. The sides are engaged in artillery duels on the line of contact. Russian Forces have carried out several strikes on AFU facilities in #Zaporozhye.

#Nikolaev - #Berislav Direction on the Southern Front (MAP):

▪️ AFU Personnel are rotated at the Posad-Pokrovskoye section in #Zara and #Lyubomovka. In Posad-Pokrovskoye itself, the AFU has set up ammunition depots.

▪️ In the #Andreevka sector, units of the AFU 35th Separate Marines Brigade tried to entrench themselves 3 kilometres north of #Ishchenka, but came under artillery fire from Russian Forces and retreated to Davydov Brod.

▪️ Enemy aircraft also carried out strikes near #Borozenskoye and #Bezvodnoye.

▪️ In the #Berislav area, the forces of the AFU 60th Separate Infantry Brigade on the Novogrigoryevka - Novaya Kamenka line are put on alert to attack positions of Russian Forces.

▪️ Russian Forces captured several enemy soldiers during combat reconnaissance near Sukhoy Stavok.

The fighting for #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut) is entering its climactic stage. The enemy in this direction is seriously exhausted, our units have penetrated deep into the city and are storming the main defensive line, and therefore the AFU command requires urgent reinforcements, otherwise the fall of the city will not only be inevitable, but will happen very quickly.

And here is where a very unpleasant fork of decisions emerges for Ze-k (Zelensky) and his gang. Surrendering a major city to the enemy would collapse the myth of an all-conquering Ukrainian army, without which Western aid could be curtailed. It would also be a blow to the image of the authorities inside the country and against the backdrop of a stalled front an unpleasant hint of future defeats.

And this is where they have to make a choice. Either withdraw their units from #Zaporozhye and #Svatovo and reinforce the grouping near Artemovsk, or invest all their forces in a final strike.

The game is very risky. And what Ze-k chooses, I think, we will see by the end of the week.

At the same time they received orders to retreat from the fighting. The only escape route was the
a small wooded area behind the house. Knowing that it had been mined by our troops, they went there anyway and started to walk along the cemetery in Yampol.
Soldiers divided into two groups and went to different sides (to the right and to the left).
They temporarily lost contact with each other. But in the end, they passed as if they were under Christ.
The only problem was our Allied mortar men who thought
that the Pack was an enemy DRG. The mortar men got active, which was actually
was actually both bad and good at the same time. Because following our
behind our guys in the forests were about 100 AFU fighters.
Eventually our guys from the "Pack" made it to their own. They made it through all the
difficulties. Having walked 10 kilometres through a mine-laden forest while wounded.
Having withstood every blow from the enemy. They won.

Now they are being treated in hospitals in our vast country.

▪️ The Ukrainian command is preparing for an offensive on Ternovye Pody and #Pravdino. The forces of the BTGr of the AFU´s 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade are concentrated in the #Galitsinovo - #Lymany area.

▪️ During the night, a large convoy of armoured vehicles and trucks with ammunition passed through the Korabelny district of #Nikolaev, heading towards the front line.

▪️ During the night, AFU reconnaissance teams used drones to reconnoitre positions of Russian forces in the Ternovye Pody area. Russian soldiers shot down five Leleka-100 and Furiya UAVs.

▪️ AFU army aviation helicopters fired several volleys of unguided missiles at Russian positions.

▪️ It is very likely that the Ukrainian command will conduct an offensive in two areas at the same time, in the Ternovye Pody and #Pravdino areas. In case an assault near #Bashtanka fails, two more BTGr reserves are in reserve.

Many experts in both the public sphere and the Ministry of Defense, are studying the question of how to increase Russian army effectiveness in the here and now.

I was presented with the opportunity (https://news.1rj.ru/str/south0wind/1549) to study the Boyd Cycle (aka the OODA Loop: observe - orient - decide - act) in the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. This was before Yerevan lost the war.

In the context of the RF Armed Forces, the lack of technical reconnaissance and target designation means immediately comes to the fore. Solving this problem will immediately increase the effectiveness of the "observation" stage.

If each command and control body and individual commanders proceeded from this principle of quick decision making using available resources, rather than the basis of rigid regulations and directives, our force effectiveness would increase.

The OODA loop comes into play when developing combat planning documents, which during the Second World War, if the situation required it, were worked out by hand and on the knee.

This also applies to the notorious ROK (Reconnaissance Fires Complex) and RUK (Reconnaissance Strike Complex)

The entire war machine must learn to think faster.

Those of the Special Forces "The Pack" are strong-minded guys of different nationalities, those who go all the way, with but one goal in mind - to win.

These guys became heroes simply by doing their difficult work. During events near Liman, they received an order from the division commander to move towards
Liman, where the specific destination was Yampol. According to intelligence brought provided to them, a small group of AFU infantry was operating there supported by one tank and one armoured vehicle.

On arrival at Torskoye, the guys decided to dismount and continue towards Yampol without a vehicle.
As a result they were delayed for about an hour. The hour was crucial for them.
Because 30 minutes before they arrived, the future location had been
destroyed by the enemy. Radio communications were most likely intercepted.
That's what destroyed the house that was to be used as the main deployment point.
