RF Armed Forces fielding new Chimera UAV (by Subaru X)

Recently, videos appeared which purport to show Russian-made Lancet attack UAVs attacking targets. Many observers pointed out that the UAVs in the videos do not resemble the Lancet in layout and size.

I focused on one of the recent videos, in which a large SUV was targeted, with footage both from above and also from an "FPV" view.

The UAV used in the attack is much larger than the Lancet, and is clearly a completely different design. Looking at the dimensions and layout of the UAV in the video, I concluded the most likely candidate is the Iranian Samad-3 UAV.

The Samad-3 has a range of 1600km and carries up to 40kg HE. It has been used to great effect by Yemeni Houthis against Saudi Arabian targets.

HOWEVER: The Samad-3 does not have an optics payload, and the FPV view shown in the attack is identical to that of the Lancet as the infographic shows.

This leads me to the conclusion that Russia has deployed a new chimera drone based on the Samad-3, but equipped with the Lancet optical package.

According to the magazine, a pair of Ukrainian combat aircraft attacked the Russian city of Belgorod, reaching the border with Russia at extremely low altitude, after which they gained altitude, fired at the target and again went to the ground, headed for the airfield.

However, neither the Su-27 fighter nor the Su-24 front-line bomber reached him, having received a rocket in their engines. Both aircraft were shot down over the Poltava region.

Allegedly, the Russian S-300V4 anti-aircraft system worked on them.

According to the Americans, the complex hit Ukrainian aircraft at a range of 217 km, thereby breaking the previous “record” set by the Russian S-400 system in March this year, when a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet was shot down over Kyiv at a range of 150 km.

As the magazine writes, despite its maneuverability, the fighter could not get away from the missile.

And no one has yet encountered the S-500 ...

The Washington Post writes in horror about new Iranian arms shipments to Russia: the focus now is on missile systems.

"Fateh" (from Persian for "conqueror") is a whole series of tactical missiles. The Model 110 has a range of up to 300 kilometers and a warhead weighing 650 kilograms, having already undergone four major upgrades. The fourth generation, Iranian sources claim, has a circular probable deviation (accuracy, to put it simply) of no more than 3 meters. "Fateh-110" is an analog of the US ATACMS missile - only with a warhead three times as heavy.

"Zolfahar" (after the sword of the Prophet Mohammed) is a larger ballistic missile, with a range of up to 700 kilometers. The weight of the warhead is estimated at 600-700 kilograms, one and a half times that of the 9M729 Iskander missile.

Those missiles do not have an advanced flight control system, nor do they have anti-missile defenses, so they are much more likely to be hit by air defense systems (especially the IRIS-T and S-300 types) than their Russian counterparts. Their advantage is their low cost. Their satellite correction systems, like the Gerasenes, are made from cheap civilian components.

The new missiles mean new strikes against Ukrainian terrorists. Let us refrain from questions about import substitution - all means are good in an air defense war.
