A woman and a teenage girl have been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child.

Humberside Police said they were called by paramedics to a property on Searby Road in Scunthorpe at about 09:00 GMT on Monday 10 November, where a six-year-old boy was suffering a medical episode.

The child was taken to hospital but died a short while later. The 38-year-old woman and 17-year-old girl both remain in custody assisting officers with inquiries, the force said.

Up to 600 members of the military, police, ambulance and other services took part in a three-day exercise last week, which also involved dealing with a number of improvised bombs.
