بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الإمام ابن كثير ‎ - قصص الأنبياء PROPHET: NOAH - NOOH (عليه السلام) PART: 14 NOAH CALLS HIS SON! And Noah called out to his son who had kept himself at a distance: “O my son! Embark with us, and do not be with the disbelievers.’…

الإمام ابن كثير ‎ - قصص الأنبياء

PROPHET: NOAH - NOOH (عليه السلام)

PART: 15

NOAH DESCENDS ON MOUNTAIN JUDI

“It was said: ‘O Noah! Descend in peace from Us, and with blessings upon you and upon the nations of those with you, and some nations We shall give them enjoyment for a time, then We shall afflict them with a grievous chastisement.’” (11:48) Allah commanded Noah to come out from the Ark after it had descended upon the mountain Judi, and the water seeped away in the ground and dried up.

ALL HUMAN LINEAGE GOES BACK TO NOAH’S SONS

“…in peace from Us, and with blessings upon you…” means that you descend and come out with no fear and with blessings upon you, and upon those who will be born afterwards from your coming generations. Allah did not grant any children to those of the believers who were saved with Noah. So all human lineage goes to Noah’s sons. [So they are either the posterity of Shem or Ham, or Japheth]. Allah said: “And We made only his progeny to endure (on the earth).” (37:77)

VARIOUS RACES FROM NOAH’S SONS

Sa’id bin Musaiyab said: Noah had 3 sons: Shem, Japheth and Ham. Each of them had 3 children. From the progeny of Shem came Arabs, Persian and Romans. From Japheth posterity came Turk, Saqalibah and Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog people). And Ham started the lineage of Copts, Sudanese and Berbers.
It is also said that all of Noah’s 3 children were born after the Flood. His son Kenan was born before the Flood and died in it and Abir who was born before the Flood, died before it.

However the correct position is that his 3 children were aboard with him with their wives and mother. This is also what we find in the Torah.

It is a statement that has been authentically reported from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) as is the case in the narration on the authority of Ibn 'Abbās that 'Umar entered upon the Messenger of Allāh and found him resting on a straw mat that had left marks on his side,

to which 'Umar said: "Prophet of Allāh! If only you would use a mat that is of more comfort than this one?"

He replied, "What concern do I have with this Dunyā, I am only like a rider who is on a journey on a hot day, then seeks shade under a tree for a while during the day, then departed and left it."¹

¹Recorded by Aḥmad in al-Musnad (no. 2744), graded authentic by al-Albānī in Silsilah al-Ṣaḥīḥah (no. 439)

The story of a woman correcting ʿUmar Raḍi-Allāhu ʿAnhu on the issue of dowry publicly; often quoted and loved by feminists; is actually FALSE!!

al-Albānī mentioned that not just the chain of narration is BROKEN (منقطع) but also its narrators are WEAK.

Ruling of Praying upon Prayer Mats with Pictures of Kaʿbah - Imām Ibn Bāz

حكم الصلاة على السجاد التي فيها صورة الكعبة والمسجد النبوي

يقول: يوجد على بعض السجادات التي نصلي عليها صور خاصة بالكعبة والمسجد النبوي. فما الحكم؟
The Questioner says: In some of the Sajjādāt (mats) that we pray upon, there are pictures, especially of the Kaʿbah and the Masjid An-Nabawī. So, what's the ruling of this?

الشيخ:
ينبغي أن لا يصلي عليها لأنّ في الوقوف على الكعبة ... ووطئ عليه نوع من الإهانة.
The Sheikh: They should not be prayed upon because standing upon the Kaʿbah and stepping on it is demeaning.

لا يجوز تصوير الكعبة على الفروش.
It's not permissible to put the image of the Kaʿbah on mats.

ينبغي لمن رأى لا يشتري السجاد جعلها صورة الكعبة.
The one who sees a prayer mat upon which, there is an image of the Kaʿbah, should not buy it.

لانّها إن كانت أمامه قد تشوش عليه.
That's because if it (i.e., the image of Kaʿbah) was in front of him, it might distract him.

وإن كانت تحت رجليه فإنه نوع من الاهانة
And if it was below his feet, then it is demeaning.

فالاحوط للمؤمن أن لا يستعمل هذه السجادات.
Therefore, it's safer for the believer not to use these prayers mats.

NOAH’S WILL – لآإِلَهَ إِلاَّ الله

Imam Ahmad has narrated from Abdullah bin Umar رضي الله عنه saying: While we were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ a Bedouin came to him wearing a long garment (Jubbah) made in Saihan, Syria, woven with silk. The Prophet ﷺ said: “This friend of yours has put on a pure Persian style, and erased every sign of being shepherd.” Then he seized him with his Jubbah and said: “Do I not see upon you the cloth of those who do not employ their intelligence?” Then he said to him: “When death approached Prophet Noah, he gave his last advice to his children and said: ‘I am going to tell you my will: I am enjoining upon you two things and forbidding you from two things. I enjoin upon you to keep with the belief that there is no God (worthy of worship) but Allāh. IF THE SEVEN HEAVENS AND SEVEN EARTHS WERE TO BE PUT ON ONE SIDE OF THE SCALE, AND THE WORD “LA ILAAHA ILLALLAH” ON THE OTHER, THE LATTER WILL OUTWEIGH AND EXCEL THE FORMER. And I forbid you from SHIRK (ASSOCIATING EQUALS AND PARTNERS TO ALLĀH) and arrogance or haughtiness.”

WHAT IS HAUGHTINESS (KIBR)?

Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهsays that it was said to the Prophet ﷺ : “O Messenger of Allāhﷻ! We know what shirk means: but what is haughtiness? Does that mean when one of us has a pair of beautiful shoes with beautiful laces? The Prophet ﷺ answered: “No.” Then somebody said: “Is it to have a good dress and wear it?” The Prophet ﷺ replied again: “No.” Another person asked him whether or not it is to have an animal to ride on it? The Prophet ﷺ said: “No.” He was again asked whether it has anything to do with friendship and sitting together with them? The Prophet ﷺ said: “No.” They then asked him: “Then, what is haughtiness (Kibr)?”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “HAUGHTINESS (KIBR) IS TO REJECT THE TRUTH AND DESPISE THE PEOPLE.”

It is Reported that Umar Ibn al-Khattāb (رضي الله عنه) said:

There are Three types of Men and Three types of Women.

A
s for the Women, then [one] is the chaste, Muslim, gentle, loving and childbearing woman. She helps her family in difficult situations and does not help situations to overcome her family. Rarely will you find such women.

Another is a vessel, she does nothing more than bear children.

The Third type is a shackle, Allāhﷻ puts her around the neck of whomever he wills, and when he wills to remove it, he removes it.

Men are [also] three kinds. [The first is] a Chaste, easy, Gentle Man who Possesses opinion (insight) and is Worthy of being consulted; and when a Matter befalls him, he Follows his Insight, and Approaches matters as They should be.

[The second is] a Man who has no Opinions of his Own, and when a Matter befalls him he goes to the one who does have Insight and Should be consulted, and he Adopts his Opinion on the Matter.

The Third is a Man who is Confused, lost and Aimless; he neither Follows (seeks) Guidance, Nor obeys any Guide.

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) said:

"Whoever does not rule by what Allāhﷻ has revealed by belittling it or looking down upon it, or believing that something else is better than it and more beneficial to the people, or is equal to it, then he is a Kāfir whose Kufr takes him out of the Millah (Religion). This includes those who legislate laws for people that are contrary to the Sharīʿah of Islām to be a system that the people follow. They only legislate those laws that are contrary to the Sharīʿah of Islām because they believe that they are better and more beneficial for the creation, as it is known by the basis of reason and sound human nature (Fiṭrah) that no one turns away from one path to another path that contradicts it, unless he believes that what he has turned to is better and what he has turned away from is deficent."

O Parents! Be Righteous!

Tafseer al-Baghawi (Rahimahullah):

Abdullah ibn Mas’ūd (Radiallahu'Anhu), used to Pray at Night and would see his small Child sleeping then he would say, “This is for your Bright Future” and whilst crying would recite:

وَكَانَ أَبُوهُمَا صَالِحًا
“And Their Father Was Righteous”
Surat al-Kahf, 82

lbn Abbās (Radiallahu'Anhu) Said: (commenting on this verse): “They (the two orphans) were Protected by the Righteousness of their Father.”

Saeed lbn Musayyib (Radiallahu'Anhu) Said:
“I PRAY, and then when I Remember my Child, I Increase in my Prayer's"

PROPHET: HUD (عليه السلام)

PART: 1

THE LINEAGE

He is Hud bin Shelah bin Arphaxad bin Shem bin Noah عليه السلام. It is also said that Hud was Eber bin Shelah bin Arphaxad bin Shem. Ibn Jarir mentioned this.

HIS TRIBE AAD

His tribe was known as Aad, who were Arabs; they lived in the desert, in Yemen, in the mountains between Oman and Hadramout near the sea. Their dwelling place was known as Ash-Shahr, and the valley in which they lived was known as Mughith. They lived in huge tents with large pillars.

Allah said in the Qur’an:
“Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with Aad; of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars: the like of which was never created in any land.” (Al-Fajr 89:6-8)

It is narrated from Abu Dhar in a long Hadith about the Prophets and Messengers that the Prophet ﷺ said: “… Four of them were Arabs: Hud, Salih, Shu’aib and your Prophet, O Abu Dahr!” (Sahih Ibn Hibban)

THE FIRST MAN TO SPEAK ARABIC

It
is said that Hud was the first man to speak Arabic.
Those Arabs who lived before Ishmael are called ‘Arab Aribah’ the original or Pure Arabs, and they were Aad, Thamud, Jurhum, Tasm, Jadis, Umaim, Madyan, Imlaq, Jasim, Qahtan, Banu Yaqtan and others.
Those who are called ‘Arab Musta’ribah’ – those who assimilated themselves by means of marriage, come from the lineage of Ishmael, the son of Abraham. Ishmael was the first to speak eloquent and literary Arabic. He learnt the Arab literature from the tribe of Jurhum, who happened to stay in Haram with him and his mother Hagar. He, however spoke better Arabic than them, and similarly our Prophet ﷺ used to speak Arabic eloquently.

AAD AND IDOLATRY

Aad were the first people to worship idols after the Flood. They had three idols: SAMD, SAMUD and HARA.

Allah sent Hud as a Prophet to them, so he called them to (worship and believe in) Allah. He said in surat Al-A’raf: “And to Aad (We sent) their brother Hud, he said: “O my people! Worship Allah, you have no other God than Him. Will you not fear Him? The chiefs of those who disbelieved from his people said: ‘Most surely we regard you of unsound mind (i.e. foolish) and we think you are a liar.’” (7:65-66).

They said that we regard the beliefs you are inviting us to as foolishness, comparing to the beliefs that we are practicing the idol worshipping from whom we seek our provisions and our help. That is why we see you as a liar in your claim of being a Messenger of God.

الإمام ابن كثير ‎ - قصص الأنبياء

PROPHET: HUD (عليه السلام)

PART: 2

It has already been mentioned, that Aad were the first people to worship idols after the Flood, as is indicated in this Verse: “And remember when He made you successors to the people of Noah, and increased you in status broadly.” (7:69). Or as it is said in this Verse: “Then, after them, We raised up another generation.” (23:31). This Verse indicates that the people of Hud, according to the correct opinion, were after the people of Noah.

Aad were a disbelieving people, transgressed against Allah and were deeply involved in idol worshipping.

To reform their beliefs, Allah sent a man from amongst them as His Messenger who could call them towards His way, and to the fact that all forms of worship belong to Allah, so a man should dedicate all his devotional acts only to Him.

Nonetheless, his people rejected his call, and adopted an aggressive and demeaning attitude towards him. So, Allah sent His punishment upon them and they were destroyed.

THE CHIEFS OF THE DISBELIEVERS DISREGARD THEIR PROPHET

When Hud invited them to worship only Allah, and that they should obey Him and seek forgiveness from Him, and that if they did so, Allah would provide them the best of both worlds, and if they were to disobey Him, they would be going to chastised severely in both worlds, their leaders said: “The chiefs of those who disbelieved from his people said: ‘Most surely we regard you of unsound mind (i.e. foolish).” (7:66)

They said that we regard the beliefs that we are practicing the idol worshipping from whom we seek our provisions and our help. That is why we see you as a liar in your claim of being a Messenger of God.

RESPONSE OF HUD

“He
Said: ‘O my people! I am not of unsound mind, but I am a Messenger from the Lord of the worlds. I bring you the Message of my Lord, and I am your sincere advisor”. (7:67-68) [His answer to them was]: I am not a preacher of trivial beliefs as you may tend to think, I am instead conveying to you the Message of my Lord, without any addition or falsification in it. Conveyance implies the integrity of the Message without any confusion or any lie incorporated in it.

MY REWARD IS WITH ALLAH ﷻ

Hud, by his communicating the Divine Message to his people, wanted the best for his people. He wanted their salvation and guidance. He never sought any reward from them, nor any favor for his obligation. He was carrying out his duties only for the sake of Allah, hoping for his rewards only from the One Who sent him as His Messenger.

Can a Muslim Ruler Imprison a Woman of Loose Morals?

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimahullah) Said:

And he (the ruler) may Imprison the woman if she Leaves her House (without reason and) Regularly, Especially (deliberately) in a Beautified Manner.
