A US official confirmed to ABC News the inspection of a Venezuelan fishing vessel last Friday, September 12, but assured that the boarding took place in international waters as part of the drug search operation.
The official stated that Coast Guard personnel, stationed aboard the US Navy destroyer USS Jason Dunham, searched the fishing vessel for drugs following a lead, but found no contraband.
He also denied the claims of the Maduro administration, which stated that the inspection lasted eight hours and was conducted in waters belonging to a Venezuelan Exclusive Economic Zone. The official, knowledgeable about the case, said the operation took place in international waters.

🇪🇸 🧐 Member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain for the People's Party & 15th Marchioness of Casa Fuerte, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo said:
🔗 @cayetanaAT:
Today, in the Joint Committee for the EU, we have approved a Vox motion for resolution to promote the recognition of the Cartel of the Suns as a terrorist organization.
Thanks to a key amendment from the PP, decisive measures are incorporated (everything that appears in bold):➡️ Withdrawal of visas, privileges, and immunities from politicians—including former European leaders—who, under the false pretext of mediation and dialogue, have laundered and supported the Maduro regime.➡️ Compliance with the parliamentary mandate to recognize Edmundo Gonzalez as the Legitimate President of Venezuela➡️ Demand for the immediate release of all political prisoners, including the 14 Spaniards, with their names and surnames.➡️ Zero tolerance for the use of Spain as a sanctuary for Chavistas and bolichicos.➡️ Unwavering support for Maria Corina and for Democratic Unity

🇻🇪🇺🇸🇹🇹 Livelihood of fishermen in Trinidad and Tobago at risk due to tensions between the US and Venezuela
Fishing communities in southern Trinidad and Tobago report that their main source of livelihood is in danger due to increased tensions between the United States and Venezuela in Caribbean waters. Between pirates, US naval operations, and the presence of the Venezuelan National Guard, fishermen say the sea has become a hostile territory, although they continue to take risks because they depend on fishing to feed their families.
Sea workers recount interceptions by both crime organization and military forces, which has generated fear and economic losses. Still, many continue fishing in waters near Venezuela, where catches are more abundant, despite the risk of violence and the growing geopolitical dispute that has made them collateral victims.
