BREAKING🚨: Russian forces have made a major breakthrough in eastern Ukraine ahead of a planned summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump.

Putin has reportedly offered to pause the fighting should Ukraine withdraw from the Donetsk region, which currently is home to much of the fighting and several key Ukrainian fortresses. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Union leaders have loudly objected to any territorial concessions.

The breakthrough occurred north of the besieged city of Pokrovsk, with Russian direct reconnaissance groups (DRGs) breakthrough the Ukrainian back line to the east of Dobropillia, a local logistics hub supplying the Ukrainian defense.

The advance has been confirmed by the Ukraine-government-aligned Deepstate Maps, as well as independent war mappers. The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War has partially confirmed the advance. It remains unclear whether Russian forces have physically severed the highway between Dobropillia and the fortress city of Kramatorsk.

JUST IN: President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that will prevent high U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods from snapping back into effect for another 90 days, a White House official told CNBC on Monday afternoon.

The order was signed just hours before midnight, when the pause on Trump’s tariffs was set to expire.

The delay was the expected outcome from the latest round of talks between U.S. trade negotiators and their Chinese counterparts, which took place in Stockholm, Sweden, late last month.

A landmark trial kicked off on Monday over the use by Donald Trump's administration of National Guard forces to support its deportation efforts and quell protests in Los Angeles, in a legal challenge to the U.S. president's break from long-standing norms against deploying troops on American streets.

The three-day non-jury trial before San Francisco-based U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer will determine if the government violated a 19th century law that bars the military from civil law enforcement when Trump deployed the troops in June, as the state of California claims in its legal challenge.

"The factual question which the court must address is whether the military was used to enforce domestic law, and if so, whether there continues to be a threat that it could be done again," Breyer said at the start of Monday's court hearing.

Los Angeles experienced days of unrest and protests sparked by mass immigration raids at places where people gather to find work, like Home Depot stores, a garment factory and a warehouse.

The administration denies that troops were used in civil law enforcement and plans to show that they were protecting federal property and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Remember how SCOTUS ruled that abortion should be decided by the states? Well there's a growing movement to try and have the court rule in the same manner regarding gay marriage ruling from 10 years ago that established the nation's same-sex marriage right under the 14th Amendment of equal protection.

A clerk in KY, Kim Davis, was jailed in 2015 for 6 days for refusing to issue a marriage license to a gay couple. She says her First Amendment rights were violated. SCOTUS will decide whether to hear her case soon.

There's been a growing call from conservatives to squash the previous ruling.

Idaho passed a resolution earlier this year to call on the Supreme court to reconsider the ruling, with four other states following suit.

Churches are also calling for a ban on Gay marriage.
