West set to stage chemical weapons use by Syria and Russia in Arab republic — SVR

Intelligence services of some NATO countries and Ukraine are set to stage chemical weapons use by the Syrian army and the Russian military contingent in Syria to discredit Damascus and Moscow in the UN, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said in a statement obtained by TASS on Tuesday.

"According to the SVR information, precisely this provocation is being prepared by intelligence services of some NATO countries and Ukraine jointly with terrorist groups active in the Idlib province in northern Syria. The plan is to stage the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian army and the Russian military contingent in the Syrian Arab Republic and then launch a campaign to discredit Damascus and Moscow in the UN and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons," the SVR press office stressed.

This plan envisages involving the White Helmets non-governmental organization "notorious for its dirty work for British intelligence services on Syrian soil," the press office added.

Escalation on the north-east border: Estonia demands blockade of the Gulf of Finland

Defense Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Andrus Merilo said military cooperation between Finland and Estonia is increasing and focused on maritime defense.

Merilo told newspaper Helsingin Sanomat the goal is to establish specific plans that allow the Allies to close the Gulf of Finland to Russian ships in case of danger.

"Maritime defense is an area where cooperation between Finland and Estonia is set to increase, and we may be able to make more concrete plans on how, if necessary, we can completely block adversary activities in the Baltic Sea, literally speaking. Militarily, this is achievable, we are ready for it, and we are moving in that direction," he said.

The American Medical Association has just released new guidance advising doctors to stop asking "Who is the president?" while testing for concussions since, at the moment, nobody is actually sure who the president really is.
