💢 The reality about most things is too complex and involves far too many moving parts, each with their own origins and trajectory, that come closer together and then farther away, then exchange at distant parts with other parts, then come back again, for most people to be able to juggle comfortably.

People like to reduce things to the level of simplicity that they either understand, or is convenient for making some other political or social, cultural, etc. ''point''. i.e. 'essentialism'.

If we stop trying to make a ''point'' in looking at complex multivariate questions, then we start to develop the level of insight and patience required to really understand aspects of things.
