The Minotaur is a figure born of woman and a metal-ribbed bull, much like the mechanical giant Talos. Another related figure is Perdix, who surpasses Daedalus in technical mastery, is pushed off a tower by him and saved by Athena – turned into a partridge, the simplest of ground birds. It is significant that in the technological myth there are extremes of brutality and open spaces, the labyrinth and the void. In this we see that the rational and irrational may be wrapped up in a single form, that the dionysian can give rise to the apollonian, the titanic the olympian. Oftentimes a mythic figure achieves its true form only through the agony of struggle with its opponent – one overwhelms the other and even surpasses its dominion. Zeus becomes the god of time and metaphophosis through his contests, just as the giants are enslaved to the creation of mechanised monsters and automatons. The mechanical world is revealed as the master of the irrational, as seen in Talos, the Minotaur, and the great Briareus Archimedes, who horrified the Romans with his gigantic war machines.
The portal can be a gate to the heavens or the underworld. It appears fantastically at times, or is constructed through the gift of the intellect. In Pasiphaë, who mates with the Cretan Bull, creation and technical force are united in the utmost devastation. An irrational will and a rational intellect form the whole shape of the portal – the will is simply hidden, less known. The Cretan Bull is snow-white, related to the Trick of Mecone and also the ancient practise of covering faces in gypsum as a symbol of the titans; the labyrinth is an underworld of such meetings. Those who renounce their oath to sacrifice will find only the reversal of laws.
This project is intended for political philosophy, history, and attempts to improve my writing. In a sense, to make my writing more 'accessible' without descending into memes. My background is in mythology, and my natural style is irrational, incomprehensible, or schizo. Occasionally I will make posts in this style which may not make sense, but ultimately I hope to find people to discuss these ideas with so I will post them occasionally.

Speculative Nationalism

An absolute loss of identity can only result in reformation through faith or an attempt to correlate identity with a series of symbols, reasons, and instincts. Although it is rare that we see even this much from the national conservatives. They accumulate data of events, historicise the nations on liberal grounds, beg to have their rights back, demand irrationalist credentials for the Neo-Cathedral, and regurgitate the news. They will "Clear them out" on twitter just like the twitter moderates they hate, and be defeated at their own game by moderation. "At least we aren't speaking leftist" is their motto, and they develop impeccable systems as to how they are not and can never be leftists, all while on the systems developed and ruled by leftists. "There is a nation, and we can think about it." This is the limit of their thinking – like a dog that returns to its vomit.
"To divide the flesh from the spirit is blasphemy against God."

The distinction between idea and action disappears when we consider language. For language is both idea and action – in its highest expression it harmonizes with the absolute, unbound by a god. In the same way, beauty forms both perfection and freedom; the spirit governs mind and body; sacrifice unites festival and ritual, without which there is a fracturing into art.

Absolute physicalism can only be read as an anti-myth. As a system completely liberated of paradox and contradiction it is closer to ideology and the technical sciences – it does away with the struggles of life, infinity, and replaces them with a supreme tribunal, a blasphemous certainty. This is the parliament of biology, what is really the spatial revolution of the mind which takes over the body like a cancer. In its singular focus, it appears as Euripides' Cyclops, "Where's nobody?"

Today we no longer have abstract reason but an abstract and cyclopic information. This is clear in the complete trampling of the real world by the digital. No doubt this will create for some a condition like that of Nietzsche's will to return to the poets, to great action! But our world is different, we already have a world of monstrous action, it is the neurosis of the democratic man. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality - judiciously, as you will - we'll act again, creating other new realities."

This will appear to many as proof of an elitism, of a great power that contradicts sentiments of the general will. But this is precisely the democratic man, a new species with a taxonomy of action – technology is his language. As Tocqueville so brilliantly reveals, it is the democratic man who must increase action, organisation, and communication to an absolute, this is precisely for conditions of equality and the will of a new man. By contrast, the aristocratic man is able to generate great force effortlessly, without an excess of communication or action. this is not simply because of an austerity of words, but the martial-like repetition which gives ideas wealth and power. Such language is action in its essence. Movement erupts like a storm, and returns with equal force to calm.

The neurosis of action is the sickness of democracy, just as philosophy is the hospital of poets. It is not at all removed from abstract reason, from technical and telluric language – just as the Cretan Bull and Pasiphäe are the parents of the Minotaur. Our question should be of an absolute rather than monstrous language. There is no escaping reason or ideas, the attempt to subsume the metaphysical realm through elimination is the same process as revaluing theology through economic systems.

One might say the same for imposing upon nations foreign gods, and especially god-concepts. "Silete theologi in munere alieno!" (Theologians should remain silent within foreign walls!) A lesson that should be dogma for nationalists. If there is a national language then the gods are its absolute law, wholly unique, forming the nation into a world all its own.

Body nihilists claim liberalism is responsible for the weakening of men, but it was a body nihilist and eugenicist who introduced soy, veganism, and the unhealthiest and most disgusting food in history.
Industrial food poisoning is a technical and theological problem, it has to do with the being of modern man, his existential character. It's not ideological, and not something to be wholly blamed on the left.

Our situation is not at all the same as Nietzsche and the romanticists. He was responding to the technological age, the coming titans; his demand was an aesthetics of armament. Now we are in the age of technological dissolution and must fight, whether armed or not.

There have been many responses to the Enlightenment, including heirs who turned against it. The Analytics and Counter-analytics are equally distant from the Enlightenment. Today the academies have been repurposed as technical institutes and industries, everywhere else man is ruled by instinct, habit, and sentiment. The technicians all deploy emotive forces as demagoguery and tyranny, as do the corporatists and party politicians. In the appeals to refugees, the poor, the new races of economy there is no reason at all – base sentiments have replaced ideology. Nor is this a question of machiavellian power, one sees how the elites are subject to the same forces of dissolution and impoverishment. Mass centralisation of the economy is a sign of this.

Irrationalism has overtaken rationalism in every space, and reason is impossible. One who attempts reason, whether abstract or intuitive, will appear as an anachronism and be overrun by the gigantic forces of information. The only reason is that of brutal fanaticism and political neutralisation – anti-reason.

Because of this it is essential today that we reintroduce reason, without it there can be neither poetry nor art. Culture freed of reason acts as the great continental fire which devours everything at the moment of its creation. A landscape of generalised lunacy has nothing to do with reason. At most it can only be a failure to live up to the demands of an absolute reason, but this is itself a misunderstanding.

"I don't agree with the assessment that Russia has already lost the war because they didn't sweep through with a victorious Blitzkrieg. It's possible for it to reach the point where it would become a Pyrrhic victory for Russia to topple the Zelensky regime, but I don't see it as near that point at all. For that to happen, the NATO involvement would have to escalate to the point where it is no longer just a proxy war."

I don't think there can be any doubt that what America wants is for Russia to push so that another front can be opened up on the world stage. Otherwise, a mistake would serve the same function. The aggressive and reckless actions are precisely for this reason (and of course Ukrainians are just pawns to NATO). "Appear strong when you are weak." Given this, a real sign that Russia has been weakened would be the opening of another front. Iran has been fermenting for a long time now, that it or another location has not been attacked indicates that America/NATO has not achieved its aims in Ukraine. As well, if there were another attack in a new region at this point an extreme degree may indicate desperation.

As Schmitt said, the American law of war is neutrality in principle and presence in practise. This is intensified to the highest degree in this war, which is without quesyion a world war. It will continue until a new spatial order is established – either the Leviathan or Behemoth will perish.

The other aspect is nuclear deterrent. In the propaganda there is a gigantic force which criminalizes Russia, even as America conducts nuclear testing. But seen from the East, the Leviathan is wounded and presents the danger of all wounded creatures – one does not want to be smothered and choked by the tentacles on the way down. Russia could face nuclear assault itself if mounted a full attack.

In both cases, Parthian retreat is an essential tactic and strategy. And this tactic is fundamental, absolute in the atomic era of war – jets dominate the skies, submarines the seas, and nuclear weapons are hidden beneath the earth itself. They are submerged in the potential ruins like the old kings buried in the foundations of cities. This is the meaning of Dead Hand – one can still move from a position of total defeat. The nuclear defense is a response to absolute criminality and surrender in international law, and it changes warfare immeasurably.

Baubo (Ancient Greek: Βαυβώ) is an old woman in Greek mythology which appears particularly in the myths of the early Orphic religion. Known as the goddess of mirth, she is depicted as bawdy and sexually liberated, and is said to have jested with Demeter when that god was mourning the loss of her daughter, Persephone.

"Baubo, having received Demeter as a guest, offers her a draught of wine and meal. She declines to take it, being unwilling to drink on account of her mourning. Baubo is deeply hurt, thinking she has been slighted, and thereupon uncovers her secret parts and exhibits them to the goddess. Demeter is pleased at the sight, and now at least receives the draught, — delighted by the spectacle! These are the secret mysteries of the Athenians! These are also the subjects of Orpheus’ poems. I will quote you the very lines of Orpheus, in order that you may have the originator of the mysteries as witness of their shamelessness: “This said, she drew aside her robes, and showed a sight of shame; child Iacchus was there, and laughing, plunged his hand below her breasts. Then smiled the goddess, in her heart she smiled, and drank the draught from out the glancing cup.”"

Democracy is Crone's disease.
"Censorship is the mother of metaphor."

I will not say I am for censorship, but it would perhaps force a new language, subtlety, or at least restraint if people were deprived of neutralising platforms. Barring a dictator that can outlaw the extremes of left and right - even more, the center - our best hope is widespread recognition of the absolute and stultifying power which rules today. A tutelary power which does not arrest us or force upon us opinions but instead impels us to be our own judge and limitation – not of ideology, but security. Today pt is not of the elite but the general will to which we owe tribute.
The Elon Musk situation is not a conspiracy, even if it has been given a little push. It is an interim. The incapacity for speech rights to get to the heart of language, and particularly a dangerous language, is at the center of free speech – its law is that anything can be said, but that whatever is said can neither have power nor effect, only endless deliberation. It is the great unlimited limit, the freedom which is a nothing.

Thus the internet is the world assembly of private concerns, personal fears, the absolute court of individual rights. What does it mean that nationalists have taken it up as their main cause? One need only compare it to the German nationalists who were front-line soldiers and criminals, anarchists and exiles. The exile who cannot bear his position or rise from it through struggle has no sense of judgement – he is the truest of all citizens.

If one cares for thinking he must welcome exile as the death of truth and law. His response to the cesspool of free speech should be like the prostitute before King Solomon who offered her baby to the other prostitute so that it would not be cut in half.

In this the conservative nationalist reveals his true relation.

Imperium's response:

"I agree with this. By "ideas" I mean something more like the preserve of the philosopher, the barbarism of reflection, rather than the poetic genius. I take the martial repetition to be the ritual utterance, not the mechanical, "magical" incantation of the technician for whom the word has power in itself, which has the power to move the god, but because it calls upon and invokes the god, the source of power."

And mine:

I think it is something like Schmitt's exception. We are tested by events and other ideas, our response is a type of decision which strengthens or weakens our connection to fate (or character, will, soul). Where there is a great distance between people, or a looming civil war in a nation, rationalisation seems to take over. This is the essence of parliaments, and to a lesser extent the senate. "Carthago delenda est" and "Carthago servanda est" suggest this, although taken as two versions of "BS BS" the sides seem less significant – and perhaps there is less power than the rational in them. It too was an inability to act. In the end it was an event that forced action.

Rationalisation is an attempt to regain intuition and unity, to prepare for an event that is looming or not fully known, and even regain a sense of vigour. Great war speeches point to this. There may even be situations where the poetic does not fit. Simply the change in era can cause a shift in the mind. The German debate was that of intellectual intuition, abstract reason, and intuitive reason. "Reason" could be substituted with "idea" here. Intuition and imagination become lost in the modern era, or they undergo a great shift. There is a similar formalisation and incantation in much of modern poetry which hollows out the idea or law. And it should be remembered that the mechanics (michani) were essential to Greek poetry, it gave a higher sense of order to poetry and the idea – an incalculable exactness. The same is true in Archimedes math questions, which were also dedicated to the Muses and left something unknown as an offering. I think this is what needs to be looked at because we see today that it is a lack of reflection that rules, a technical intuition and mechanised action.

Here is where I disagree on the Odinic-Tyrrhic conception. It first of all preferences the right-wing, when if nothing else one has to account for the weakness of the right and an even more indecisive role in the political. One can also see the right being the force which introduced the democratic character, founded the installations if not the revolution itself. This would mean that the left and right have switched roles, and that the right may have its own forms of "incantation". So the question is, what causes man to turn away from the conservative position, and to no longer invoke the god as he once did? When does he abandon his gods for that of an enemy? And when does a god turn away from what was once the rule of piety?

If a god turns away from the old law then martial repetition will only drive us further from him. To be a great man could only end in disaster when Odin is wandering in the shadows.
The left are zombies. The Right are vampires. The center, werewolves.
There are some situations where 'punching right' is appropriate, but most in the dissident right have no self-control so conflicts spiral from the NAP to Burger King nukes. Just like the ancap memes.
This shows better than anything where loyalties lie.

It is not at all surprising that a society which isolates its elders will also develop the most extreme restrictions during a pandemic and abandon territory to mass immigration. In some sense, medical neurosis spread through guilt for what had been done to our elders, much in the same way that immigration relieves the guilt following wars of liquidation.
With the 'heirs to the counter-enlightenment' debate the right has descended into dangerous waters. In the 20th century there were perhaps less than ten heirs to the counter-enlightenment, with the state of decline one can imagine what those numbers might be today. Over the next few months I will try to give some context to this debate and what relevance the counter-enlightenment has today.

This is not to say that people involved in these discussions are unintelligent. The question is not one of knowledge but rather a way of seeing, a way of orientation. The counter-enlightenment is for us as distant as pre-socratic philosophy. Our situation is like that of sitting in an abandoned theatre, simply imagining the play is not enough, one also has to account for the historical and spatial difference in how that play was perceived and performed. Character changes just as much as the sense of beauty.
Do you understand the Enlightenment vs. Counter-enlightenment opposition?

I think a great starting point for anyone interested would be "The Oldest Programme for a System of German Idealism". It is considered to be a collaborative effort by Hölderlin, Hegel, and Schelling. I will post a link later if it is not freely available online. Very short essay and should also be of interest to anyone studying religion.

I will also try to work out a reading list.
