Fares Shehabi:

"In 2012, western backed Free Syrian Army terrorists FSA stole my olive oil factory in Aleppo and gave it to their allies in ISIS who in turn sent me a confiscation letter telling me to visit their HQ in the "children hospital" in East Aleppo where they shared location with all other "moderate" rebels in the city.

Of course I did not go because I was on their hit list. In 2014, the Syrian army liberated my factory and I immediately turned it into a free school to provide secular education for poor kids in the area who were subjected to radicalism in previous years. I kept the school running for 8 yrs until the gov fixed its nearby school.

In 2022, I decided to go back to work exporting one of the best extra virgin olive oil in the world. I rehabilitated my factory with huge financial difficulty due to harsh economic sanctions on Syria. Today, the factory is closed because of these sanctions.

My case is the case of most Syrians who struggled against terrorism for 12 years.

The very same thugs who robbed me with ISIS are now free in Idleb under al-Qaeda rule. They are only 20km away from where I am now. All of this happened to us because our country did not sell Palestine."

Christianity reversed Roman dysgenics and began a cognitive evolution

Frost (2023)

Researchers studied genetic data from individuals spanning the Neolithic era to medieval times in central Italy. They found that cognitive ability increased during the Roman Republic, declined in the Imperial era, and rose again during Late Antiquity. The decline during the Imperial era was attributed to a decrease in fertility among the upper classes, increased female hypergamy, and a growing slave population. The Pax Romana, a period of social pacification, also led to genetic pacification, making people less aggressive and submissive.

However, Christianity restarted cognitive evolution by promoting monogamous marriages, ensuring stable family structures, and fostering peace and stability. These factors allowed individuals to focus on intellectual pursuits and innovation, leading to the advancement of society.

TIL in early cinema, actors were not credited in films because producers feared fame might lead to demands for higher wages from stars. In 1910, Florence Lawrence (formerly just "the Biograph Girl") became the first actress to have her name used in advertisements to promote her movies.
