Christianity reversed Roman dysgenics and began a cognitive evolution

Frost (2023)

Researchers studied genetic data from individuals spanning the Neolithic era to medieval times in central Italy. They found that cognitive ability increased during the Roman Republic, declined in the Imperial era, and rose again during Late Antiquity. The decline during the Imperial era was attributed to a decrease in fertility among the upper classes, increased female hypergamy, and a growing slave population. The Pax Romana, a period of social pacification, also led to genetic pacification, making people less aggressive and submissive.

However, Christianity restarted cognitive evolution by promoting monogamous marriages, ensuring stable family structures, and fostering peace and stability. These factors allowed individuals to focus on intellectual pursuits and innovation, leading to the advancement of society.

TIL in early cinema, actors were not credited in films because producers feared fame might lead to demands for higher wages from stars. In 1910, Florence Lawrence (formerly just "the Biograph Girl") became the first actress to have her name used in advertisements to promote her movies.

"First, our (s)elected representatives sign us up to overarching, unaccountable, international bodies like the UN and the WHO. Then they appointed nameless/faceless bureaucrats to act as our unelected representatives at those bodies that sign us up to conventions and agreements that most of us don't even know exist. These conventions and agreements then "obligate" our national governments to take certain actions or to refrain from certain other actions. Finally, those same governments pass legislation that makes these pledges and targets and restrictions the law of our land.

But all this is "voluntary," you see? It's all above board. There's no global government—only global conventions that parties have agreed to abide by."
