Nobody is talking about the fact that yesterday on the front page of the Wall Street Journal the full facts behind Sam Altman’s firing were revealed, and revealed to be perhaps the most paradigmatic longhouse situation of all time.

"The animation quality of the 1940s Superman animated serials has never been equaled since. The art design was a deco vision whose colors were vivacious, subtly layered, and vibrant. The character movement was analog realistic. There was nothing it didn’t get right. And no one has come close to recreating its level of artwork in a superhero cartoon since.

I'm reading about the Silk Road and realizing that anybody immigrating into the West from anywhere in the world that isn't the West is getting hustled big time. These guys are fleeing the world's unmatched economic power zone to live in post-modern shit holes and shop at Kmart.
I'm pretty sure the "corporate interests" (Eastern or Western, who knows at this point) are emptying Afghanistan into Australia so they can lay some Eurasian infrastructure down without any trouble from the gravediggers of Empires AKA Afghanis.
Afghanis won't assimilate here, but that's not my beef with importing them. It's that they are getting booted out of a deeply mineral rich country and everybody pretends we're doing them a favour by giving them visas. Afghan refugees aren't lucky to be here, at all. They're getting completely shafted out of actual wealth in their own land.
Fleeing Asia for this country is like being married to Brad Pitt and then hooking up with Pete Davidson and everybody saying "congratulations". Lolololol

🔶️ On average 50 to 90 ships go through the canal daily, so this is not major; YET.

The Ruins of Khara-Khoto in the middle of the Gobi Desert
In Mongolia, in the middle of the Gobi Desert, there once stood a prosperous kingdom. It was a center of religious learning, of art and a trading hub. Ghosts live here. That's what the Chinese say. They claim this place, a walled fortress abandoned in the 14th century is inhabited by demons and spirits.
The site was rediscovered in the early 20th century by a Mongol-Sichuan expedition. During its initial excavation, the expedition uncovered over 2,000 books, scrolls and manunoscripts in the Tangut language. These treasures were sent back to St. Petersburg along with Buddhist statues, texts, and woodcuts that were found in a stupa outside of the city walls. Further excavation produced many thousand more manunoscripts, books, as well as daily items, production instruments and religious art.

In the movie Home Alone, Kevin McCallister spent $19.83 for his haul of groceries. The same basket of goods would cost $44.40 in 2022. In 2023, it would cost a whopping $72.28 for the exact same groceries.
