Convergence Kills US Semiconductors

There’s also an interesting geopolitical strategic assumption buried deep in this article on the chip-making industry’s abandonment of the USA, which is particularly intriguing in light of the audience for The Hill: The Biden administration recently promised it will finally loosen the purse strings on $39 billion of CHIPS Act grants to encourage semiconductor fabrication […]

Speaking in late 2020, Jacob Rothschild celebrates the fact that—due to relentless fearmongering by government schools, and the media— "there probably isn't a child over the age of six that isn't deeply concerned about climate change", going on to call Covid-19 a "distraction" from the climate agenda.

The Specialist Always Wins

There is a panoply of ignorance on display in the recent UFC vs Navy SEALs debate in the sports world: The UFC superstar made some waves when he claimed no Navy SEAL could make it through the training he does. While he didn’t specify, it definitely seemed like he meant fight training. Could a Navy […]

"Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to weaponize deepfake porn of aspiring female leaders in Western Democracies as part of a high-tech effort to destroy their reputations and thwart the system, experts warn.

"The Kremlin already has had success using AI-generated porn against female politicians in Ukraine, with the “sick” tactic serving as a method to weaken the West, a US official told The Sun.

“If I was Russia, I would be looking at using deep fake pornography to undermine democracies… to upset the balance of power,” said Nina Jankowicz, the former executive director of the US Homeland Security Department’s disinformation task force. “Targeting women is a great way to do it.”"

One heck of an upgrade for my library. Replacing my two-volume Cambridge Medieval History with Castalia Library's new edition. This photo doesn't do it justice. Those books are works of art.

The Burj Al Babas is an abandoned ghost town in Turkey filled with Disney-like castles. Construction of the luxury community began in 2014. When Turkey's economy fell, the project halted. Today, 587 castles remain empty, and tourists often visit to see the eerie ghost town in real life.

Is This Really News?

BREAKING: The federal government has been illegally surveilling and building profiles for Americans in secret portal called DSAC for those who oppose firearm restrictions, lockdowns & vaccine mandates, and or support border security and are labeling them as domestic extremists. I’ve lost track of the number of government lists I’m on, and that’s just the […]

The Roots of GamerGate 2.0

The Dark Herald delves into the latest iteration of GamerGate at the Arkhaven blog: It all began with GamerGate. Well, no it didn’t. It began with decisions that the editors of PC gaming magazines made. Back in the 1990s I had a subnoscription to Computer Gaming World. It was a don’t miss back then. Given […]

House Democrats opened an investigation of Elon Musk’s SpaceX, examining whether the company implemented adequate safeguards to prevent Russia from deploying its Starlink satellite internet service in its war against Ukraine.

Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) sent a letter Wednesday night demanding that the company report complaints about potential illegal acquisitions of Starlink terminals, including in Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine. The lawmakers said they were alarmed by Ukrainian intelligence officials’ allegations that Russian forces the company’s terminals in eastern Ukraine, potentially running afoul of U.S. sanctions. — Washington Post reports

———
They are not wrong. Russian forces indeed utilize the Starlink. They either buy it on a black market, or take it as a trophy from the Ukrainian positions. Russian troops have been using the Starlink for months now, although the media got this information only couple of weeks ago.

A big win for French farmers 🇫🇷

“After massive protests in France, Paris dropped plans to scrap diesel subsidies and pledged to ease environmental rules on agricultural production. Farmers in France, Germany, and throughout the EU say the concessions aren’t enough and have vowed to keep protesting until all of their demands are met.”
