Predjama Castle is one of the oldest castles in Europe, the national symbol of Slovenia. It is located 10 km from the town of Postojna, famous for its cave complex Postojna Yama. Predyama Castle rises above the Lokva River.

Predjama Castle is located on a rock ledge 123 meters high, the rock itself served as the basic structural element.
The castle covers the entrance to a giant cave, behind which lies a whole system of galleries and grottoes. Mysterious passages lead to beautiful halls. The cave system has several tiers with a total height of 140 meters. The explored part of the underground passages is 13 km, but much remains to be discovered by speleologists.
