Dwarka is an ancient Indian city that is believed to have been submerged by the Arabian Sea after the death of the Hindu god Krishna. The city is located where the Gomti River meets the Arabian Sea, off the coast of modern-day Dwarka.

According to the Mahabharata, Dwarka was a fortified city that covered almost 84 square kilometers. It was a center of pilgrimage and was home to many temples and assembly houses.

Archaeologists have found evidence of the city's existence, including:

Stone blocks and pillars
Pottery
Beads
Sculptures
Sections of walls Human bones and teeth
Stone anchors
Lead anchors

The age of the artifacts is still debated, but some have been carbon dated to be nearly 9,500 years old.

Bypass the cultural gatekeeping, support non-woke authors, and get yourself some great based books from both established and emerging talent for only $0.99 – many noscripts free – but only for one week! The sale starts today, and it runs through the end of the day, Tuesday February 18.

With over 200 books in the sale, there’s a lot to see here. It’s like browsing an eclectic bookstore with a surprisingly good book hidden on every shelf. And the store is full of based books instead of random selections. So make yourself a warm cup of nutri-broth - or maybe the legendary Terran “coffee,” if you’re lucky enough to have it on your planet - settle in, and start browsing.

TIL that Winston Churchill would have written John D. Rockefeller's biography, during the 1930s, but the Rockefellers withdrew their offer once Churchill demanded $250.000 for writing the biography of their patriarch.

Questions are being asked over the Department of Defense under Biden funding Reuters to the tune of $9 million to engage in “active social engineering” and “large scale deception,” with some claiming conspiracy and others asserting the funding was related to defending against cyber attacks.

Hans Island was for years a border dispute, the so-called Whisky War between the two countries of Canada and Denmark.

In 1984, Canadian soldiers visited the island and planted a Canadian flag, also leaving a bottle of Canadian whisky. The Danish Minister of Greenland Affairs came to the island himself later the same year with the Danish flag, a bottle of Schnapps, and a letter stating "Welcome to the Danish Island" (Velkommen til den danske ø). The two countries proceeded to take turns planting their flags on the island and exchanging alcoholic beverages. In 2005 a Canadian man and an unknown source on the Danish side also posted advertisements on Google to "promote their claims".

The minor border dispute was often considered humorous between the two nations, with diplomats displaying good humour. Despite the serious official nature of the matter, the manner in which the conflict was prosecuted was light-hearted, demonstrated by the length of time taken to settle the dispute, if nothing else. The two nations are on friendly terms, and are also founding members of NATO.

In 2022, Hans Island was split in half after 17 years of negotiations.

Great News!
The portable tactical short-range missile system "Solist" ("Солист"), equipped with a subsonic 0.45-mach tactical missile with a bispectral optical-electronic homing head (TV/thermal imaging ranges) and a command-telemetry control channel, was developed by specialists of the КЭМЗ concern is undergoing full-scale tests at one of the rear training grounds of the DPR.

The destruction of highly protected enemy targets is carried out from closed firing positions at a distance of up to 10 km.
The apogee of the ballistic/flat trajectory of the Solist missile reaches 1700 - 2000+ m with the possibility of continuous radio correction by the operator, who receives TV/IR images of the target area and target objects. The operator has the ability to re-target to a higher-priority target on the marching section of the trajectory.

The missile is equipped with a single or dual-mode solid propellant rocket motor, probably with a solid propellant charge, as well as folding lattice rudders for placement in a compact launcher, similar to the FGM-148E Block I Javelin ATGM. The strike can be carried out in the most vulnerable sector of the armor projection (similar to the Akeron or Spike-MR ATGM).
The system is capable of operating in the ground-to-air mode, intercepting the Lyuty and A-22 Foxbat kamikaze UAVs, as well as enemy reconnaissance and attack UAVs. The warheads can include both the PG-7VS/VL HEAT rocket-propelled grenades and the OG-7V OF warheads, as well as, probably, the TBG-7V thermobaric warheads.

The most significant tactical and technical advantage is that the complex has a remote control with a radio channel or fiber-optic channel range of 2000+ m, which ensures the highest level of safety for the operator of the complex.
The Solist complex may become one of the main assault instruments in offensive operations of the Russian Armed Forces in the coming months.
The appearance of NLOS-type ATGMs in the Russian army is a long-awaited development.
