👑🏬🇮🇷🇮🇷 — Protests today swept across the Tehran Bazaar as calls for bigger and larger marches spread across Iranian social media

➡️ In a stunning act of defiance, shopkeepers at Tehran’s legendary Grand Bazaar closed their stores today and joined the nationwide anti-regime strike, chanting “freedom” in the middle of one of the country’s oldest and most politically symbolic marketplaces.

📝 The Grand Bazaar has long been a pressure valve in Iranian politics, so when it speaks (or shuts down), history tends to follow.

➡️ The strike comes as unrest surges into its second week, with deadly crackdowns across the country, a collapsing currency, and no signs of public fear returning anytime soon.

Jacques_Ellul-Propaganda.pdf
42.4 MB
Jacques Ellul argues that propaganda is not merely a political tool but a structural feature of modern technological society, inseparable from the systems that sustain it. Rather than relying on outright lies, modern propaganda works through selective truths, half truths, and manipulation of context. He distinguishes between agitation propaganda, which incites action or rebellion, and integration propaganda, which conditions individuals to conform to social norms and technological systems.

Ellul contends that modern education prepares people for propaganda by supplying fragmented, secondhand information, training them to hold opinions without direct understanding. Intellectuals are especially vulnerable because they consume the most information, feel pressure to opine, and mistake information volume for independent thought. In an atomized society, propaganda fulfills psychological needs for belonging and purpose, replacing lost communal bonds.

He warns that propaganda creates false needs and satisfactions, producing emotional and ideological dependency. No ideology can employ propaganda harmlessly; once introduced, it becomes self sustaining and irreversible. Ellul concludes that propaganda is more dangerous than visible threats because it reshapes perception itself, becoming the environment in which modern humans live rather than a force they merely encounter.

TIL that in the Indiana Gas Boom of the 1880s, 90% of the gas was wasted in enormous “flambeaux” torch displays for advertising and public amusement. Within a couple decades, the gas ran out and the wells lost pressure, which also prevented most of the oil from being extracted.

Physics, like history, is a narrative. To understand the narrative, you must ask who wrote it and why. To paraphrase Napoleon, physics is a set of interpretations collectively accepted. More generally, we have to understand: what are the assumptions underlying science? We call these an “epistemic framework.”

There are any number of puzzling physical anomalies surrounding the events of 9/11: anomalies that are inexplicable according to the conventional narrative.

BREAKING: It has now been revealed that the State of California had a policy to PROHIBIT Firefighters from putting out fires in state parks due to "Rare Plants."

"Part of the reason that fire was never fully extinguished was that the state of California had a policy on parkland."

"NOT allowing heavy fire suppression equipment into areas that were considered sensitive, either because they had rare plants or because they possibly had cultural resources."

"If you read the documents, these policies, which were crafted late 2024, said you could not suppress fire in the state park, which is right up against Pacific Palisades, unless you had an archaeologist present to tell you where you could and could not put out the fire."

"Conclusions This study was unable to find a protective influence of influenza vaccination among working-aged adults during the 2024-2025 respiratory viral season and found that influenza vaccination was associated with a higher risk of influenza when influenza activity was high.

Summary Among 53402 working-aged Cleveland Clinic employees, we were unable to find a protective influence of influenza vaccination during the 2024-2025 respiratory viral season and found a significantly higher risk of influenza with vaccination when influenza activity was high."

Air defenses don't work so well when they're unmanned and local Latino generals issue stand-down orders, especially after being bribed by you. Go figure!
