One of the problems of going down the rabbit hole and realising everything you were taught, ever, is a lie, is that it's impossible to consume almost any form of culture. For example, this morning I was reading CS Lewis on the Psalms and he made some perfectly innocuous wartime reference . And instead of nodding along with this perfectly conventional, disparaging analogy, I found myself brought up short and murmuring: "Well you might think that Clive. But how do you actually know that you weren't just sold a pup by the propagandists?"
