President al-Assad arrived in Jeddah, accompanied by the Political Adviser, Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, the Special Adviser, Luna Al-Shibl, along with a number of senior officials of the Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Mr. President was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary of the Jeddah Governorate, Saleh bin Ali Al-Turki, the Director of Police in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Major General Saleh Al-Jabri, and the Undersecretary of Royal Protocols, Fahd Al-Sahil, and headed to the residence of all Arab leaders at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

President al-Assad's schedule will be crowded, as he will have several bilateral meetings with Arab leaders before heading Syria's seat at the summit about 1 pm tomorrow.
Mr. President is likely to meet with the presidents of Egypt, Iraq, Algeria and other countries.
