Google Bard is a glimpse into a terrifyingly misinformed future

Generative AIs are all the rage recently, kickstarted by ChatGPT and followed up by Microsoft Bing. Since then, Google has seemingly sped up its own AI chat model development and released Bard in a limited fashion, and so far, it seems to be an inferior product to the rest of the competition. It struggles with basic questions, uses questionable sources, and in general, appears to be a bit of a half-baked product.

The bot logo is not even centre aligned [1], and usually there's no logos for test bots in the test server [2]

Microsoft starts to shame unsupported Windows 11 PCs

Microsoft has started to shame unsupported Windows 11 PCs by adding a watermark in settings and desktop that says "system requirements not met". This is all done in a last ditch effor to get users to buy PCs with TPM 2.0 so they can collect your data. However they've stated that this watermark can be disabled by modifying settings. This was done so that non tech-savy users get annoyed enough to buy a new PC.

Gotta love Microsoft™.

Google Drive's getting a new look and bringing added functionality to Android tablets

With this update, you're going to get new optimizations for tablets, which include a navigation bar that has been moved to the side, making it easier to scroll through the app, particularly folders and files. "Visual components" have been optimized for larger screen, with one such part being the file details for a selected file. While these aren't the most exciting updates, they are quite functional, and optimizing small things like these can make the app that much better and easier to use. Of course, if you want to try out the app, you're always free to do so, just note that the visual update is for Google Workspace accounts.

Spotify removes Zee Music songs owing to licensing dispute

“Spotify and Zee Music have been unable to reach a licensing agreement. Throughout these negotiations, Spotify has tried to find creative ways to strike a deal with Zee Music and will continue our good faith negotiations in hopes of finding a mutually agreeable solution soon.”

Among the many songs that have been removed includes ‘Apna Bana Le’ from Bhediya which has been the number-one track on Spotify in India over the past two weeks. This comes after last year’s move by Zee Music to not renew the licensing agreement with the music app Gaana and following which, a few months later, the app became a subnoscription-only service.
