Additionaly, Governor Ducey SIGNED SB1260. Also sponsored by Sen. Mesnard, SB1260 helps prevent duplicate voter registrations by requiring election officials, when informed that an individual is registered in another jurisdiction, to confirm with the election official in that jurisdiction and cancel the registration. Further, SB1260 classifies as a class 5 felony knowingly providing a mechanism for voting to a person who is registered in another state. YOU sent 2,740 emails to lawmakers and 1,566 emails to Ducey. Reports coming in that Senator Gowan is refusing to hear the state budget in Appropriations Committee unless the House adds his $150 MILLION handout for woke Hollywood film companies (SB1708) to the House Rules agenda.

Conservatives have thus far successfully held this bill off, but it appears Senator Gowan now wants to hold the state hostage in order to help woke Hollywood elites.

Leadership in the House and Senate is currently trying to push a budget deal with Democrats which will include more tax increases, massive pay hikes for all state employees, billions for Green New Deal transit projects, and other Build Back Broke Proposals.

Sen. Gowan openly admitting that he is holding up the budget to save “other bills” when everyone knows he means film tax credits. He’s willing to grind the government to a halt for hundreds of millions in taxpayer subsidies for woke Hollywood elites. By the way, the state can’t even afford this! Budget projections in the out year has a structural surplus of just $26 million. Price tag on SB1708 is $150 million.
