The Supreme Court appears poised to uphold state laws in Idaho and West Virginia that reserve girls’ and women’s sports for biological females, signaling a major win for fairness in athletics and Title IX. During lengthy oral arguments, a majority of justices—particularly the conservative bloc—expressed skepticism toward claims that these laws unlawfully discriminate, emphasizing that sex-based distinctions in sports are rooted in biological reality and long-standing practice. Justices including Roberts, Alito, Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Thomas highlighted the real harms to female athletes, the impracticality of carving out subjective exceptions, and the danger of redefining sex in ways that would undermine women’s protections nationwide. While liberal justices pressed for individualized exceptions based on hormone use or identity, the states and the Trump administration argued convincingly that Title IX permits sex-separated teams based on biology and that laws need only be reasonably related to fairness and safety—not perfectly tailored to every edge case. Overall, the questioning suggested the Court is likely to allow states to protect women’s sports, even if the final ruling is narrowly written.

Republican voters in Arizona LD14, your Higley Board member nominated a Democrat for governing board president. There was a Republican willing to run for the position, but Sara Jarman ignored her qualifications and nominated Democrat Glover instead because he's "approachable ". Listen at 11:20

The Higley Unified School District, serving parts of Gilbert and Queen Creek in a traditionally conservative, Republican-leaning area of Arizona, has experienced a concerning shift despite its strong foundation in family values. Voters in the district, which remains politically “solid red” in many precincts, have repeatedly rejected bond and override measures, signaling dissatisfaction with district priorities amid declining enrollment. Yet the majority of the governing board is liberal, currently split 3–2 in favor of Democrats. Even though Republicans helped elect board members like Anna Van Hoek and Sara Jarman, the board’s actions often fail to represent the conservative base, allowing issues such as questionable curriculum materials, DEI training, and alleged campaign law violations to persist.

At a recent board meeting, the election of a new governing board president exposed internal divisions. Republican Anna Van Hoek nominated herself and outlined her qualifications for leading the board in a professional manner, but fellow Republican Sara Jarman instead nominated Democrat Scott Glover for emotional reasons—appearing to view the role as a place to make friends rather than to govern. Glover declined the nomination, and the current rainbow-haired president, Amanda Wade, was then re-elected to serve a second consecutive year after a first year many found difficult to watch. This appeared to be a possibly pre-planned maneuver, frustrating conservative supporters and highlighting a broader failure by Republicans to engage consistently in local governance, such as attending meetings or holding elected officials accountable. This neglect, contrasted with Democrats’ focus on grassroots involvement, has allowed public schools to drift, affecting families, taxpayers, and future generations despite the availability of school choice options. Greater involvement from LD14 Republicans and precinct committeemen to restore accountability and protect children is essential. While Arizona’s LD14 Republican Precinct Committeemen allow Democrats into their meetings, one woman sits alone on the dais fighting for their children.

The Chandler Unified School District (CUSD80) has expanded its equity and inclusion administration in recent years, with Dr. Adama Sallu serving as Director of Educational Access and Strategic Partnerships, a taxpayer-funded senior role previously noscriptd Director of Equity and Inclusion. The position carries influence over professional development, district culture, and policy framing, but the district has provided limited public documentation detailing measurable outcomes, evaluation methods, or demonstrated academic or behavioral improvements tied to these initiatives. Publicly available training materials and conference presentations associated with the role emphasize identity-related and culturally responsive concepts, while largely omitting references to academic performance metrics or evidence-based instructional benchmarks. Additionally, publicly visible social media content linked to the role has prompted questions from some stakeholders about neutrality and equal representation of all student groups. As the district continues to cite budget pressures and academic challenges, community members have called for greater transparency, data-driven accountability, and clearer assurances that equity-related leadership functions are balanced, neutral, and effective in serving all students.

Terrible precedent to set, and could the board be liable if something goes wrong?

The Peoria Unified School District governing board voted 3–2 to reinstate Liberty High School wrestling coach and teacher Eric Brenton while both a police investigation and an internal district investigation into alleged sexual hazing remain ongoing, despite the district’s attorney advising against reinstatement until the investigations conclude. Supporters of reinstatement cited the absence of a legal requirement to keep an employee on leave, while dissenting board members argued that completing the investigation was necessary to protect students, the district, and due process. Attorneys representing alleged victims and a national victims’ rights advocate described the decision as highly unusual and potentially harmful, noting allegations that Brenton knew about sexualized hazing and failed to intervene. While there may be additional facts yet to emerge, based on what is publicly known and the investigations still underway, the individual should not have been returned to contact with students until those investigations were complete.

Jeremiah Cota, a conservative board member of the Phoenix Union High School District and a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, attended a Christmas afterparty following Turning Point USA's AmericaFest, hosted by conservative groups like NicoPAC and Republicans for National Renewal—hardly a scandal considering conservatives naturally gravitate to conservative events, much like how birds of a feather flock together. The left-wing media, including outlets like The Arizona Republic and Arizona Mirror, are predictably clutching their pearls over alleged "ties" to controversial figures, dredging up old podcasts and associations to smear Cota, while ignoring that he didn't respond to their gotcha questions and that the district itself condemns racism without implicating him. This manufactured outrage reeks of hypocrisy from progressive Democrats, who routinely attend Marxist-inspired rallies, support socialist policies and communist sympathizers like those in BLM or Antifa circles, and cozy up to far-left extremists without a peep from the press—yet they lose their minds when a conservative dares to network at a holiday gathering, proving once again their double standards and selective moral indignation are just tools to silence opposition while we're all fed up with their endless BS.

A Tucson spa owner, Helen Barayeva, drew widespread condemnation after a since-deleted TikTok video in which she discussed plans to poison ICE agents and described food contamination as a “biological weapon,” prompting reports to authorities and the removal of most of her social media accounts. Barayeva owned Refreshed Looks Aesthetics, previously operating inside Les Cheveux Salon and Boutique, and archived posts show past support for progressive figures. The incident comes amid heightened tensions over immigration enforcement, with the Department of Homeland Security reporting sharp increases in threats and assaults against federal officers, while Democratic officials criticize ICE tactics and Republicans defend expanded enforcement. Statements from Arizona leaders reflected the divide, as Democrats called for limits and nonviolence in protests and Republicans argued increased resources and authority for ICE are necessary to address illegal immigration.

Tucson Unified School District being flagged by the Arizona Auditor General as one of the highest financial-risk districts in the state is a clear example of what happens when school boards mismanage finances and fail to plan responsibly. Declining enrollment, soaring operating costs, and the loss of federal COVID relief funds have exposed years of poor decision-making, including using one-time money to fund ongoing expenses. With enrollment down more than 2%, salaries up over 20% in four years, and utility costs rising sharply, the district is now facing hiring freezes, position cuts, and up to $25 million in operating reductions by 2030.

This situation underscores how ideologically driven or incompetent governing boards that don’t understand basic fiscal responsibility can put entire districts at serious risk. When boards make short-sighted, politically motivated, or outright foolish decisions, taxpayers and students ultimately pay the price. The fact that other major Pima County districts avoided the highest-risk designation highlights that this outcome was not inevitable, but the result of governance failures that will take years to undo.

Phoenix Union High School District is indulging in fear-based messaging and political signaling about federal immigration enforcement—offering online learning as a workaround instead of reinforcing stability, in-person instruction, and the rule of law—while claiming it’s all about “support.” That posture undermines parental confidence and distracts from academics, and it looks even more reckless given the district’s own data: enrollment is already in high-risk decline, down 5.32% year-over-year and 11.66% over four years (from 34,661 students in FY2022 to 30,618 in FY2026). Rather than fixing the basics—attendance, instruction, & trust—the superintendent, union voices, & board members amplify anxiety & normalize avoidance of school; meanwhile their student count keeps falling. Frankly, these district admins and board are idiots for prioritizing optics over enrollment, stability, and their actual job.
