Peace is not to be sought but to be enforced.

Those who are incapable of war are never in a position to ask for peace without submission and letting go of their own rights.

You don't deserve peace if you can't handle war.

Peace comes to those who can do without it.

But in reality what they're implying is that you can get peace without being ready for war and that's completely delusional.

The world doesn't work that way.

Balance is maintained through extremes not through the avoidance of both.

Ask people what they think of drug use.

Implicitly mention how the effects of cocaine for example makes people feel fearless.

If they say “yea but its not financially sustainable” you’ll know that they’ll do anything for money, thats the main drive

If they say “nah bro it fries your brain” you’ll know they value their lucidity

If they say “if only you could take it without consequences” you’ll know they’re not completely morally correct

Of course those are just examples and they vary depending the person and the context

But the idea is that if you’re going to do small talk, place bets and gauge who you’re talking to

So its not all useless and boring

Stay intentional in everything you do

Make it a habit of bringing yourself back to the present moment.

I know, we get carried away so easily.

But being able to focus back on the NOW will bring you an unmatched feeling of internal peace.

Realizing that you're exactly where you should be or the opposite; realizing that you're wasting your time.

The most meaningful thoughts and reflections come when you bring back your attention to what you're doing right now.

It sounds paradoxical but it works.

Don't get lost in your own thoughts.

Do everything with intention and focus.

Don't get sloppy; it's a waste of time.

HOW TO AVOID SNAPPING

Displaying anger is rarely a good idea.

Of course, some situations call for it; some people simply do not understand anything but that.

But in most cases?

Bad move.

A lot of people will get on your nerves.

They'll say things and behave in ways that are specifically targeted at making you snap and lose your cool.

Sometimes you'll be seeing things that don't exist.

Yea we all get that, don't worry.

Now the sane thing is to think that you should be able to control your anger.

Common sense but easier said than done.

Now let's consider this:

The answer is that anger doesn't usually come out of nowhere.

It slowly (or quickly, depending on how you are) escalates until it gets out of control.

If that's exactly what you want to do, then here is what you should implement:

- Focus on saying less:

Express your disagreement in other ways but verbally. The truth is, the first misplaced word we make usually causes a snow ball as once you cross the line? What's stopping you anymore?

Right?

So instead, let's limit the words.

To avoid overspilling and losing control of what you're saying.

Focus on using the fewest words possible.

Trust me, they'll get it.

You don't need to absolutely lose your shit to get your point across.

Another thing to do is to avoid storming out and getting physically intense.

Because; honestly?

You don't look as cool as you see it in your head.

Avoid that.

If you're about to stop putting up with someone's provocations, make sure you give them a fair warning.

Innocent people will either apologize or try the minimum to fix/clear things up.

Manipulators will either completely deny or get confrontational.

That at least gives you a clearer idea of who you're dealing with and how to proceed.

The Humble Trap

"I'm humble" is the most arrogant thing anyone could ever say.

No, really. Think about it.

Here's the deal:

You don't need to announce it to the world.

It's like the whole "I'm a nice person" thing.

If you're actually nice, people will notice without you having to declare it every five seconds.

But back to the humble game.

How would it make you feel if someone said that about themselves?

You might think, "Cool, I guess?"

But deep down, you'll probably be rolling your eyes, right?

If you've got to tell people how humble you are, chances are you’re the complete opposite.

It's a bit like wearing a shirt that says "I'm super smart."

Like, who are you trying to convince?

This constant desire to project an image of humility is a red flag.

Many are the cases of such deceptive people.

Describing yourself as humble shows how much you care about how you’re perceived.

Is maintaining a good reputation necessary?

Absolutely.

But you do that through your actions not your claims.

Again: Talk is cheap.

And before you act in a specific way:

Don’t ask yourself how will people perceive me?

Ask yourself, how would I perceive it if someone else did the same?

It's easy to assume you're overthinking a situation.

But most of the time? that's not the case.

Most of the time, you're avoiding the conclusion that will hurt your feelings.

It's a tough realization, but you can't run away from it.

We all want to protect our emotions.

Feel safe.

Avoid thinking about the real issue.

But avoiding it only prolongs the inevitable.

And you start going in circles.

Truth is, you're never overthinking.

You're simply in an unhealthy loop of thoughts.

Many times, we resist accepting that we’re wrong because we think it will make us weaker.

But in the end, you end up a stronger and wiser person for it.

Shying away from the pain of growth is refusing to grow.

Refusing to be wrong is refusing to learn.

You cannot get better if you don’t accept your “development arc”.

And part of it is accepting that you're not perfect but you can get close to perfection by facing the difficult questions and being honest with yourself.

Develop your ability to inflict damage.

Most of the time, you won't need to use it.

But when you do need it?

You'd better be capable of it.
