Beaver Lore Fact: Last night was the Full Beaver Moon. The Full Beaver Moon is the name given to the full moon which occurs in November. It gets it's name from ancient North American civilizations, who associate it with beavers collecting food for the winter…
It's that day of the year again my dear friends! Tonight the Full Beaver Moon is upon us! 🦫🌕

Beaver wetlands and fun bugs 🦋🤝🦫
A recent UK study conducted by Patrick Cook at Stirling University concluded that wetlands created by beavers have an average of 45% more butterflies than wetlands created by humans, and 29% more different species of hoverflies 🪰. The amount of individual hoverflies even more than doubled when compared to human-made wetlands. Both butterflies and hoverflies are extremely important pollinators, showing once more the key role of beavers in preserving biodiversity 💪

Beaver love ❤️🦫
A recent study from the UK concerning monogamy ranked beavers the 6th most monogamous animal on earth. This means they ranked higher than (modern day) humans!
👩❤️👨Beavers are known to choose a partner for life, whom they have all their kits with. The only known instances of beavers changing partners is when a partner passes away, in which case they sometimes look for a new mate in the next mating season.
🦫Beavers are very family oriented, being extremely social animals. Kits stay with their parents for two years on average, and both mom, dad and the yearling beavers contribute to building and maintaining their lodge and dams and taking care of the newborn kits.
The Californian deer mouse ranked 1st, being the most trad animal on earth.

Went on a walk at a local parc today, they're clearly very proud of their beavers! They had this spot dedicated to them, with a rain shelter and some benches 😊
