(yapping once again about this endless debate)
Women have been stereotyped, shamed and judged for so long; for their appearance, their “nature”, their intelligence, competence and especially basic bodily functions and needs. Even in meme-culture something as simple as “do girls really poop?!” and successful women being questioned and accused of shade/not deserving just goes to show the deep-rooted objectification and dehumanisation; women have been considered as machines for chores, nursing, child-bearing and sexual pleasure, so them showing signs of humanness and demanding rights/equality awakens an underlying rage and resentment in misogynistic heads. Which is why so many women “perform” femininity, alternative their physical and behaviour traits and hide things to protect themselves and be admired/accepted in patriarchal societies.
This makes the “female-privilege” claim mostly non-sensical; if it takes as much effort and arguably suffering to receive crumbs of appreciation and be treated appropriately despite being considered as incapable and “less”, it’s not really an advantage. Most women don’t live their lives on “easy-mode”, you’re just clueless to the backstage labor. What’s often referred to as female-privilege is just an assumption and reaction to the lives of people on screens who are financially well-off, benefit from their beauty, were diligent, have had to pay the price or generally had the foundations unrelated to gender to be able to afford certain luxuries and prizes.
The irony is that while ambitious women were tortured and killed under accusations of “witchcraft”(now in the form of backlash) many evil men are praised, pushed further to the top and defended from criticism: modern relevant examples: Andrew Tate, Elon Musk, piles of podcastors and entrepreneurs. Men suffer undeniably from many social and systemic issues too, the issue is the argument that women don’t despite the obvious historical and current circumstances.
