You are invited to join the Strike Force chat! It began as an experiment to introduce large Telegram channels to social movements in North America (you might remember its original name “U.S. Rent Strike 2020”).
Since the murder of George Floyd, the channel evolved to focus on the #BLM uprising as well as other movements that contribute to its general antagonism. Here you’ll find a major hub to connect and chat with people organizing and plugging in from around North America (and beyond). Enjoy! (click "Discuss" from the channel to join the chat!)

On US President Donald Trump openly talking about delaying the election, after months of calling it fraudulent: Get ready to pull the emergency brake.
But of course, he'd need to go through congress to do such a thing. But truly, at this point the president has way more power then the US system is able to cope with. Add that with a bunch of feds being all buddy buddy with him. Best case scenario? The election continues but he's still totally free to send in his goons for "poll security" or whatever. Mail in voting happens, but many ballots get suspiciously lost. Wouldn't surprise me if we just went from covert voter supression to open.
Though, elections are entirely managed by the states. Many red states will just do whatever he tells them to.
The obvious thing: Killing USPS and making mail in voting nearly impossible will surely do him a lot of good.
So, while much of the fascism on display in the US today is nothing new, Trump definitely represents a descent into it we probably don't want to go down. So, don't let yourself tune out of it. There needs to be a point when enough is enough, ( although id say that was awhile ago ) A point where simply doom-scrolling as we watch this country slip into open fascism is no longer acceptable. While the covert fascist policies we've had for years no are disgusting, the scale on which an open fascist can grind us into the dirt is beyond that..
The current moment represents a turning point, i think. We've been shown that there are many more people who "get it" then the general hopeless attitude on the "left" would indicate. The only thing we need is a vision, and to un-relentlessly run with it. The sheer amount of intersecting issues facing us right now cannot be understated, and this ( the next months - years ) may be our last chance to mainstream another vision for the world that isn't ran by ghouls, destined to cook us all, and inevitably fascist. Cause if the current upswing in far right politics around the world isn't responsible for a rise in fascism, the climate refugees certainly will bring unprescedented xenophobia.
So, we either figure out a game plan now or someday, maybe not soon at all, there will come a point of no return.
Our power is immense. And a little tiny bit of decentralized coordination would go a very long way in growing our ability to communicate effectively to our current "masters."
So, its high time to get creative. Build resillient networks, talk to everyone, organize, come up with effective demands. The tools to build the world we want are right in front of us. We can build networks capable of shutting the whole thing down. Of course, the logic of protest is one of a slave in a sense, sitting there with your demands and huffing and puffing for the status quo to give us what we want. And its important to acknowledge the limits of it. But let me know when we will all be able to provide universal healthcare, for instance.. Some things are too intertwined with systems to be able to go around them in totality.
But how many have died due to a lack of healthcare?
How many will die in ICE custody?
How many lives ruined by the carceral system and its labyrinth of laws?
How many? Can you put a number on it? Oh, X many people will have to suffer before i get pissed and start organizing or throw a brick through a window.
Hell no, the time to search for something else was looong ago. But always, be ready to pull the emergency brake.

When something is very noticeably beyond the point of no return, it will be too late. So don't merely be ready to pull it, but know when to as-well.
