Greene and Gaetz Cleared to Sue California Cities Over Event Cancellations, Despite Judge's Criticisms

A judge, on Friday, allowed lawsuits filed by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to continue. They filed the suit in July after two California cities canceled political events that they headlined in 2021. 

The central issue in their complaint is that city officials pressured the venues to withdraw their events.

Gaetz and Greene are seeking damages and legal injunctions to prevent future cancellations of their events in the cities.

Jury Convicts Former Wisconsin Election Official for Fabricating Military Absentee Ballots

The Milwaukee County jury took about 5 hours to deliver its verdict in the trial of former Milwaukee Election Commission deputy director Kimberly Zapata, 47, of Milwaukee.

She was found guilty on/
📌A felony charge of misconduct in public office
📌3 misdemeanor counts of making a false statement to obtain an absentee ballot.

Zapata’s Sentencing is scheduled for May 2.She could be facing up to 5 years in prison and a $13,000 fine.

She has maintained her innocence, saying her actions were aimed at combating false narratives about voter fraud that cropped up after the 2020 presidential election.

California insurance commissioner declares 'crisis' after major State Farm announcement

State Farm announced on 3/20 that it would cut 72,000 home and apartment policies in California due to inflation, regulatory costs and increasing risks from catastrophes.

The commissioner said he wants to investigate State Farm's finances, but warned that regulators can't go too far, or else they would risk pushing companies out of California entirely.

The Commissioner said “Insurance companies are not like utility companies," he told KABC. "By law, they don't have to be here, and when we try to over regulate… what happened after the Northridge earthquake, when the legislature came in and tried to overregulate, and they no longer write earthquake insurance in California."

The tension referred to in the noscript I believe came after Ronna McDaniel’s requiring candidates to sign a pledge agreeing g to certain things.

One of the requirements being that the candidates agree to support whomever the nominee would be.

Remember during the debates for the 2016 election, when asked if there was anyone who would not agree to support whomever the nominee was; Donald Trump was the only one to raise his hand.

Why was this question regarding supporting the nominee not simply left to be a question during the debates? 👇
