North Carolina company forced to pay fine of over $30k after asking an employee for their green card
A printing company in North Carolina has been ordered to pay more than $30,000 for its “wrongful discrimination practices.” The settlement was reached on Tuesday between Printful and an employee that they hired recently, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Previously submitted documents included a Social Security card and a driver’s license.
Assistant AG Kristen Clarke from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said: “Companies cannot reject workers’ valid documents or require specific or unnecessary documents based on citizenship status when checking their permission to work. The Justice Department will continue to hold accountable employers who run afoul of our nation’s civil rights laws.”

The longshoremen who unload and reload the ships daily will likely be laid off due to the lack of work after the bridge collapse.
Scott Cowan, President of International Longshoremen’s Association Local No. 333, Port of Baltimore, expressed those concerns noting that “As long as the shipping channel is closed, it’s going to be virtually no work for our people…”.

Addison Pierre Maalouf, known as YourFellowArab on YouTube and Twitch and his Haitian colleague, Sacra Sean, were allegedly abducted.
The abduction allegedly happened on March 14 by armed men belonging to a gang known as the 400 Mawozo. They were acting on behalf of Lanmò 100 jou, a gang leader belonging to the Viv Ansanm coalition who made it onto the FBI's most wanted list after kidnapping 17 Christian missionaries in 2021.
The perpetrators allegedly demanded a ransom of $600,000, some $40,000 of which has been paid.
