Knowledge, information, propaganda and conviction, are actually all completely different words with different meanings and meanings, but today often mixed up to mean almost the same thing. Or rather, they are given floating meanings and value charges that cause the contexts to be blurred, combined and knotted, the meaning of the words to be slippery and the language to be unclear.
This is to create a controlling thought pattern that causes us to seek inwardly to the center of the cognitively formatted thought space - what we call the box. Which is so carefully separated from reality to become what we perceive as our "truth". Mirror images are reversed as you know. Herein lies a large part of the problem today, or at least a big issue that contributes to a large extent to groupthink persisting and that we remain prisoners of ourselves, this with the fact that we do not - want - dare to try to expand the box, or to at least try to look over the edges of it. The language and the meaning of the words for the box's construction, content - function - cannot therefore be overestimated, it constitutes the walls - the limitations
Whoever controls language controls the content of information and keeps thoughts limited, so we limit ourselves through language. So we must therefore take back the power over our own ability to put our thoughts into words, to be able to put our thoughts into words, in order to free our own thoughts from the linguistic shackles that are perhaps the biggest obstacle to us being able to define ourselves to emotional self-understanding. Of course, great pains have been taken to format us in such a way that we will end up in this current state, so that we will be easier to control.
One of the reasons I write, and not just think, then, is to force myself to go through all my cognitive jumbles of words and their functional meaning and their value charge. Because when the raws can be held more strictly within my mind, my own "truths" only have to meet my simple and flexible logic and standard of reasoning, all the sliding vagueness has to be peeled away. Everything within myself then becomes more manageable. Simply put, I also lie to myself regularly knowingly or unknowingly (but hopefully less so over time) to maintain my own belief systems and it stings to have to change my beliefs. But at least I know that I must always try to improve, let go of my old beliefs.
If we ever actually dared to write down and put into words our beliefs about everything on paper and thus expose our own beliefs to the light of today - reality - now, I suspect we would be quite embarrassed by all those slips of faith , illusions, logical dead ends, contradictions, cognitive dissonance and disjointed reasoning that we still so eagerly keep hidden in the dark recesses of ourselves.
Although this assessment may sound a bit harsh, it is still to be as close to reality as possible to make it indistinguishable from our truth, to try. We can't know everything so we have to make these logical shifts so as not to lose context. We extrapolate trends over time but we like to overlook other people's purposes, or worse, apply our own projection as someone else's.
Even if we claim our moral ground and declare it as either our truth or not, our flexible worldview and imagination is such that it requires generous amounts of possible wiggle room to operate between the hammer and anvil of reality, so we must also seek to evolve intellectually emotionally if we are not to eventually go mad with stupidity, just as our unconditional imperfection creates our intellectual laziness, it is a balancing act of thought to optimize development. To hope to die before total insanity sets in seems perhaps a little immature and simplistic, even if by all means the meaning of life is ultimately to die.
