While everyone claims to want the truth, we really just want as much of reality as can be absorbed into our pre-existing worldview frameworks, as smoothly as possible - the domains of intellectual laziness that happen to be the box. The ultimate propagandist and manipulator that we meet there and that rules this realm during our lifetime is our "ego" (not infrequently inflamed to pure acid smelling of sulfur - vitriol - by our lack of emotional self-understanding because the devil resides within ourselves in the details ) an ugly, hollow, insecure rascal to self-image that we therefore carefully try to avoid ever personally learning to "feel" or confront, and thus most of all - preferably - refrain from examining in order to understand ourselves.
