To the ex i don’t hate,
As i sit down to write this letter, my first thoughts are – i hope you’re doing well. i hope you’re happy in your life. i mean it. i do.
it’s been four years since the break-up, eh? it’s been a ride of a lifetime. if i look back in time, i can remember all the things we did together and to each other.
from that phase of ‘first love’, we’ve come a long way. i’m a content writer now. and you’re in a different part of the world, doing what you’ve always wanted to do.
i could start our story from the day when we first met in maths tuition, in class 10. we were 16. young and foolishly in love. we believed that you and i are going to be each other’s happy ending, that we will be together forever.
you know, people make plans. they see a life – a house, two kids, a lovely wife, and a happily-ever-after. and then, before you can get that life with your first love, life happens.
it’s been four years since we broke up. i remember the first two years where i resented you. the two years i spent being miserable – drowning in alcohol and everything harmful. no one knows of it, but now the world will.
the past two years have been better. i have grown up. i don’t see love as a fundamental feeling, but as an emotion that puts you in a happier state. it took me time, but i got there.
i’m sure the heartbreak was just terrible for you, too. i empathise with you. i understand all my shortcomings in that relationship, and i hope, you saw yours, too.
i’m romantically interested in a woman now. like genuinely interested. and i think i’ll court her and see if it can work out.
on some days, i’m very happy. on some, i feel okay. all i want to say to you is that you were a wonderful friend. you taught me how to love after breaking my heart. i may have had my reasons to despise you, but almost after four years, i’ve recovered. so i know, the heartbreak isn’t a forever. just like love isn’t.
take care.
with love,
the boy you once loved

An old-school like me has no place in this world.
I see people falling in love every day. they fall in and out as if they are changing clothes. they talk about new crushes and un-loving someone. all of this amuses me.
Matches here are made not in heaven, but on dating apps. i wonder how these apps are any different from online shopping? and love? it’s now expressed through cheesy texts and long captions in front of the world.
People fall in love with bodies, with the shape of them. poems are piled up with dust sitting in a corner, because shakespeare’s lovers are now bae’s and babies.
I see the sunsets and sunrises waiting to be seen but do they know the corner seats have already been booked? i look for the albums but they tell me the photos now live on social media.
I see people flirting because they are scared to fall in love. valentine’s day is all about gifts, buy me some and i will all be yours. if this is love, i suppose i am better off alone. maybe i will forever be a dreamer believing in my delusions of getting handwritten letters and reading poetry together.
Maybe i will forever be the misfit who thinks forehead kisses are so much better. maybe i will always want to go on long walks and not on long drives. maybe i will always want our dates to be in libraries and not in cafes.
Maybe every weekend we will do a movie marathon, sitting in our pyjamas than roam in the malls.
Maybe i will always write poems for my lover. i would give him a warm hug because honestly, hugs are so underrated.
I will be the love i never received. honestly, i don’t know what love is. all i know is this is not what great poets meant when they talked of love.
But don’t get me wrong, i’ve nothing against the new culture. this new type of love just isn’t for me.
yours,
an old-school soul.

To the ones who lost their belief in love,
You loved somebody and you did everything you could to keep them – but it didn’t work out.
You loved so hard that when they left, it broke something inside you.
You were this person who was kind. who would help people without expecting anything in return. you were too young. and now, you’re in your 20s, and while books have told you that love stories are a forever – for you, love became a lesson.
It scarred you.
Now, when someone asks for your help, you think twice. you wonder what they want from you. anybody who texts you after midnight – you don’t bother replying. you know they are lonely, too.
There are times when you ask yourself – if you’ll love again. the answer is, yes, you will. not right away or for a while, but you will.
You’ll meet someone who loves partying on weekend but will stay at home with just to be with you. you’ll meet that someone who will go out of their way to make things work. they won’t magically make you believe in love, no, but you’ll be at peace with them.
You’ll find someone who will be worth your wait. and if you’re someone who is done with love, that’s okay, too. you can live knowing – you once loved someone.

Decide to Be Happy
We create our own happiness in this life. Happiness is achievable for us if we apply the right formula. One way of choosing happiness is to cultivate the habit of being happy. When you develop the happiness habit, life becomes more enjoyable every day. Because habits are something you can cultivate, you have the power to create your own happiness.
You develop the happiness habit by thinking happy thoughts. Make a mental list of happy thoughts and run them through your mind throughout the day. If an unhappy thought pops in, eject it by substituting a happy thought.

But keeping someone's trust on you alive even in worst conditions is the ultimate greatness 🌼

According to insurance corporations, more accidents happen on Friday than any other day of the week.
Happy hours, a more relaxed attitude, and rush to begin the weekend all contribute.

You know guys I love Friday. I basically consider this day to be an extension of the weekend. I just need to bide my time in order to enjoy 48 hours of relaxation. However, my productivity leaves quite a bit to be desired—there’s a lot more Facebook scrolling, yawning, and mindless staring involved than I would like to admit.
Since I work for myself, I’ve developed the attitude that whatever I don’t wrap up on Friday, I can take care of on Saturday or Sunday. Unfortunately, this usually means that I spend a big chunk of my weekend working on things I actually should’ve been able to finish beforehand.
So, I challenged myself to take my weekends back by making sure I used Friday to its full potential—despite the fact that my motivation is usually waning.

ADMIT THAT YOU HAVE DONE ONE OF THESE
1. Walked in a room, forgot what you needed, walked out and then remember!
2. When you were younger, drew the sun i the corner of the paper.
3. When you were little, thought the shape of a real heart was actually ❤️
4. Closed the fridge door really slow, just to see when the lights went off.😁
