Why Engineers Can't Be Rational About Programming Languages
A programming language is the single most expensive choice a company makes, yet we treat it like a technical debate. After watching this mistake bankrupt dozens of companies and hurt hundreds more, I’ve learned the uncomfortable truth: these decisions are rarely about technology. They’re about identity, emotion, and ego, and they’re destroying your velocity and budget in ways you can’t see until it’s too late.
The Visible Conversation: “Rust has memory safety without garbage collection.” “Go has faster compile times and easier deployment.” “Python has the richest ML ecosystem.”
The Invisible Conversation: “I am a Rust programmer.” “I want to become a Rust programmer.” “I cannot imagine being someone who doesn’t choose Rust.”

Today i learned something really interesting from some research and honestly kinda humbling...
when you attach your identity to something like saying im a python dev or i only use rust your brain starts defending it automatically it treats any new idea or tool like a threat to who you are. so when you see another language doing something better your brain isn't just comparing tech its actually trying to protect your identity without you even noticing. and the funny part is the same part of your brain that should help you see the bias is the part that's being biased😂
It reminded me to stay open stay curious and not let who i think i am stop me from growing.

AI really helps us a lot it changed this messy ER Diagram into fully functional models with some additional tables and best practices.
we just need to use it to our advantage try things ourselves, rely on it for additional functionalities, and especially use it to enhance the concepts we already understand.

But here's the thing nobody tells you about learning to code - it's not linear. It's messy. Full of false starts, detours, quits, and comebacks. This is that story. The real one.
