The US and UK are planning terrorist attacks on Russian bases in Syria in order to prevent the situation in the country from stabilizing, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has said. Since the fall of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government earlier this month, Washington and London have set a goal of “maintaining chaos in the Middle East” in order to achieve a lasting dominance over the region.

Hayat Tahrir-Al-Sham is een terroristische groepering met haar thuisbasis in Idlib. Eigenlijk kun je zeggen dat ze een nieuwe naam hebben, maar eigenlijk is het gewoon Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusrah en ISIS (Daesh). De VS het VK en Europa noemen hen nu ‘rebellen’, geven toe dat ze terroristen zijn, maar inmiddels zijn ze ‘brave’ jongens geworden, gekleed in pakken, met een baard en geïnstalleerd als de nieuwe regering in het voormalige Syrië.
Op 8 december j.l., verdreef Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), de in Idlib gevestigde terreurgroep, de regering van Bashar al-Assad in het voormalige Syrië nadat ze de hoofdstad Damascus hadden overgenomen. De overname was het resultaat van een combinatie van twee razendsnelle offensieven genaamd Operatie Deter Aggression en Operatie Dawn of Freedom. Uiteraard zijn deze namen door de VS bedacht. Zij waren immers degenen die de aanval daadwerkelijk uitvoerden (samen met Turkije en Israël). De aanval was gericht op het veroveren van strategische steden en het uitbreiden van de grenzen van HTS’ controle.
Het gebruik van drones door HTS heeft hun offensief aanzienlijk geholpen, waardoor ze de regeringstroepen konden afweren en in een relatief korte tijd aanzienlijk terrein konden winnen. De ontwikkeling van deze technologie werd gefaciliteerd door hun controle over het grondgebied in Noordwest-Syrië, wat de groep een veilige haven en toevluchtsoord bood om te innoveren en logistieke aanvoerroutes te bouwen voor de import van componenten en expertise. Veel van deze componenten en drones komen uit Oekraïne, waar westerse (Europese) staten hebben geïnvesteerd in drone – en wapenfabrieken, waarbij Nederland de grootste investeerder is.

Putin apologizes to Azerbaijan's Aliyev over deadly plane crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, to express condolences for the deadly plane crash that occurred in Kazakhstan this week, the Kremlin said.

Putin offered an apology for the fact that an incident “took place in Russian airspace,” adding that it occurred during a Ukrainian drone raid, which was being repelled by air defenses.

The Russian Investigative committee is probing the incident for possible violations of air traffic safety rules, the Kremlin said. “Civilian and military specialists” in Russia are being questioned about the events, it added.
