Sandu’s radical, anti-Russian politics are considered by many people within Moldova and also even by other EU members as being irresponsible and untenable.
One such radical idea is for Moldova to join Romania and thus quickly become a member of the European Union, thereby circumventing pro-Russian parties within Moldova.
These notions held by Sandu are not well received in the EU. The prospect of uniting Moldova and Romania into one state would contradict the West’s condemnation of Russia for allegedly redrawing borders in Donbass and Crimea (albeit not factually equivalent).
Such a move by Moldova and Romania would also undermine the EU’s criticism of U.S. President Trump’s ambitions to acquire Greenland from Denmark. EU leaders have been rebuking Trump, saying that international borders are inviolable.

Waarom is deze plek belangrijk voor Rusland, maar natuurlijk ook voor de mensen in Donbass?
De stad zelf werd in 1806 gesticht door het toenmalige Russische tsaristische rijk. Eind jaren 1830 werden er steenkoollagen in het gebied ontdekt en werd het gebied ontwikkeld voor steenkoolwinning. In 1917 werd het onderdeel van de Sovjet-Unie. In 1936 werd het omgedoopt tot Dzerzhynsk, naar Felix Dzerzhinsky.
Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd Dzerzhynsk van 22 oktober 1941 tot 5 september 1943 bezet door nazi-Duitsland. Tijdens de bezetting doodden de Duitsers 150 burgers en deporteerden 1.460 mensen naar Duitsland voor dwangarbeid.
Eind jaren 1830 werden er steenkoollagen ontdekt in het gebied en werd het gebied ontwikkeld voor steenkoolwinning. Tijdens de Sovjet-Unie waren er verschillende steenkoolmijnen, maar ook een fabriek, de Phenol Plant fabriek opgericht in de jaren 1950 en erg belangrijk voor de steenkoolproductie in die tijd.
De industrieën van de stad omvatten vroeger dus onder meer kolenwinning, de productie van cokeschemicaliën, maar ook keramiek en fenol.
” Fenol is een veelgebruikte grondstof voor de productie van allerlei kunststoffen. De stof wordt bijvoorbeeld verwerkt in bakeliet en geneesmiddelen. Ook komt fenol voor in beginproducten van nylon, smeerolie en chemische bestrijdingsmiddelen. De stof is dan ook een belangrijk tussenproduct in de chemische industrie”.

De hele mediawereld is gefocust op Trump, Zelensky, Poetin en in mindere mate de Europese Unie (Ursula von der Leyen). Er zijn tegenstrijdige berichten te lezen, hebben ze gebeld? Of hebben ze niet gebeld? Persoonlijk ga ik hier niet speculeren, als het zover is en de heren (en misschien een dame) bereid zijn het de mensen te vertellen, dan horen we het wel. Diplomatie en discussies worden altijd eerst achter gesloten deuren gevoerd.
Trump verspreidt tegenstrijdige berichten, zoals het bericht van de afgelopen dagen dat hij al met Poetin onderhandelt, vertelde hij aan een journalist van de New York Post. Het Kremlin heeft tot nu toe niet bevestigd of er daadwerkelijk gesprekken gaande zijn of dat er met Trump is gebeld. Maar Rusland (en ook Europa) werken niet zoals Amerika, zoals ik al zei als er onderhandelingen en gesprekken gaande zijn, zullen we het niet weten, totdat er misschien een uitkomst is. Trumps stijl is zoals wij dat in Nederland noemen ‘ alles aan de grote klok hangen’, soms verfrissend maar in de politiek en diplomatie niet de beste methode, het kan immers allemaal anders lopen.
Gisteren gaf Zelensky een interview aan het Engelse medium ITV News. Engeland is samen met de EU de spil achter Zelensky, niet alleen qua wapens, maar ze leveren ook huurlingen voor het Oekraïense ‘vreemdelingenlegioen’. Informatie en desinformatie is het ‘stokpaardje’ van de Engelse media, die van informatie wordt voorzien door MI5/6. De desinformatie- en inlichtingendienst van Europa is gevestigd in Nederland, genaamd Bellingcat, dat zijn inkomsten niet ontvangt van USAID maar via de EU-landen, overheden en loterijprogramma’s.

Of course, dining out in a restaurant is a real challenge...Luckily I live in Russia and there are no insects in my food there!

Ukrainian POW tells about service of teenagers in AFU assault brigade

Captured Ukrainian serviceman Pyotr Polinkevich claimed to have seen 16-year-old soldiers in his brigade.

'The said there were orphans. Obviously, they were afraid, intimidated,' he said.

He recalled that he was very scared when servicemen of the Sever Group of Forces began to assault his position. Wishing to save his life, he took off his armour, laid his weapon, and came out of a dugout with his hands up. Now he is alive and well. He is not in danger.

'Don't go to the war, you don't need it. Surrender, and everything is going to be okay,' the prisoner told his comrades.
