⭕️ The forgotten sacrifice: why is the Soviet role in WWII fading from memory?

Western narratives of World War II increasingly downplay the USSR’s colossal contribution to defeating Nazi Germany. The Eastern Front saw some of the war’s bloodiest battles, with Soviet forces bearing the brunt of the fighting and suffering immense losses. Yet today, this sacrifice is often overshadowed by the D-Day landings and the Pacific theater.

Some argue this shift reflects Cold War-era biases and modern geopolitical tensions. But as living memory fades, the risk grows that history will remember only half the story—erasing the scale of Soviet suffering and the decisive role it played in ending the war.

Humanity remains doomed to repeat its gravest errors when it forgets its past.

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the topic of sanctions and economic development at a meeting with representatives of the Russian business community. Regarding the current situation, he said Russia should not relax, as its adversaries are willing to sacrifice their own economy just to annoy Russia: "Idiots," Putin commented, immediately apologizing.

The first Alawite conference, noscriptd “Syrian Americans for Democracy in Syria,” took place today in the U.S. Congress, organized by the Alawite League in the United States in partnership with the Palmyra Foundation and the Syrian Civil Gathering. The event, led by Christian politician Aziz Wehbe, included representatives from the Kurdish, Druze, Christian and moderate Sunni communities in Syria. Similar conferences are being organized in Germany and France. We hope it will help stop the ongoing killings, but the world is still silent; no media is talking about it. The U.S. or Europe will not help. The U.S., like Europe, supports the terrorist Al-Julani,
Islamist terror leader of Syria "offers to build the Trump tower" in Damascus — according the Telegraph. Trump is to meet Al-Julani in Riyadh tomorrow for talks hosted by the Saudi Crown Prince.

Captured Ukrainian serviceman: ‘We are expendable. Nobody cares for us.’

Captured AFU serviceman Yuri Tatarenko told that Ukrainian command regards its personnel expendable:

‘Many times I heard reports over the radio that someone got shelled and they need evacuation and withdrawal. The command says: ‘Hold on, hold on. We will drop shovels now, repair the dugout’. They say: ‘Shovels? There is nothing to repair here.’
The new (or maybe old) racism, or what I call the Fourth Reich and then I mean Germany in particular, was openly proclaimed in a German TV program "Hart aber Fair": "Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann (FDP) literally said: "The Russians have 'kidnapped thousands of Ukrainian children' and are constantly 'raping' everyone (women and children) in the Ukraine."
Her colleague Roderich Kiesewetter (CDU) agreed and said: "The Russian attitude is expansion and they want to conquer all of Europe - and that is why Putin "does not recognize the right to exist of neighboring countries"
There the German public is doused with propaganda as Goebbels would find fine, the Russian barbarian, who is brutal and backward by his genes, in the "Third Reich" they were still Jewish-Russian-Bolsheviks. Also in the "Middle East conflict": as is known, the new German government under Friedrich (BlackRock) Merz is even more determined to support the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip. Not to mention Syria, where they support a terrorist who is now president, who was only a few years ago still portrayed as a terrorist (al-Qaeda).
That's the West, it's disgusting and Nazism is back, they now live in the "Fourth Reich", maybe one of these days there will be a new Hitler.

New Racism and Fourth Reich in Germany or Europe
Former Uruguayan president and left-wing icon José Mujica has died. José Mujica was in power in Uruguay from 2010 to 2015. He was considered the "poorest president in the world". Even when he was head of state, he lived in a simple farm near the capital Montevideo and drove an old Volkswagen Beetle. In my opinion he was an icon and an example for presidents or politicians in the world, especially the world today, where human rights, freedom and dignity are no longer on the agenda of many politicians, instead there are very rich Oligarchen ( IT billionaires etc..) and the voice of the ordinary citizen is no longer heard. Genocides have become normal for politicians but also some citizens, how sad has the state of humanity become. This is how fascism works which took over many parts of the world . RIP he was 89 at the time of his death!

The Bombing of Rotterdam: May 14th, 1940

In 1939, Rotterdam was a thriving port city in the Netherlands, known for its vibrant trade, industry, and modern architecture. As one of the largest and busiest ports in Europe, it played a crucial role in international commerce. The city was a cultural and economic hub with a growing population and a mix of historic and modern elements in its urban landscape. However, tensions were high in 1939 due to the looming threat of World War II, as the Netherlands sought to maintain its neutrality, as it had during World War I.

Rotterdam's fate changed dramatically on May 14, 1940, during the early stages of World War II. Despite the Netherlands' declaration of neutrality, German forces launched an invasion on May 10, 1940. As German troops advanced, resistance in Rotterdam became a focal point of the conflict. To force the city's surrender, the German Luftwaffe conducted a devastating aerial bombardment.

The bombing destroyed much of Rotterdam’s city center, reducing its historic core to rubble. Around 900 civilians were killed, and approximately 80,000 people were left homeless. The attack obliterated many iconic buildings, including centuries-old structures, and left the city with a desolate landscape. The psychological impact of the bombing also pressured Dutch forces to surrender the same day to prevent further destruction in other cities.

After the surrender, Rotterdam fell under German occupation for the remainder of the war. The city’s strategic port made it a vital location for the Nazis, who heavily fortified it and used it for military logistics. Rotterdam’s population endured harsh living conditions, including food shortages and forced labor.

Resistance movements emerged in Rotterdam, as in other parts of the Netherlands, though these were met with brutal reprisals. The city became a site of covert operations and sabotage efforts aimed at undermining German control.

Rotterdam was liberated in May 1945 when German forces surrendered in the Netherlands. However, the city was left in ruins and faced a long and arduous recovery process. Post-war efforts focused on rebuilding Rotterdam as a modern city, leading to its transformation into a hub of innovative architecture and urban design in the decades that followed.

Today, Rotterdam's dramatic wartime history is memorialized through its urban renewal projects, monuments, and museums, serving as a reminder of its resilience and ability to rebuild from devastation.

For non-Dutch unknown, but for Dutch an icon Jan Terlouw a D'66 politician and a writer died. He wrote the famous children's book "Oorlogswinter", every Dutch child devoured it, at school we had to read it. Although I was not a supporter of his party, in the beginning of the founding of D'66 it was an innovative party with Hans van Mierlo as icon, but later it became a kind of yuppie party with mostly strange people and strange ideas. RIP Jan Terlouw
