Afgelopen dagen was ik in Zuid-China, in de megastad Guangzhou, als je er rondloopt, merk je niet echt dat het zo groot is. Het leven is ordelijk en efficiënt, de mensen zijn ongelooflijk vriendelijk, vooral tegen buitenlanders; racisme is hen vreemd, in schril contrast met het Westen.

Er wordt in het Westen veel over China gesproken en geschreven, waarbij het wordt afgeschilderd als een communistische surveillancestaat waar burgers geen vrijheden hebben. Er wordt veel gespeculeerd over het zogenaamde “Social Credit System”. Zo wordt er beweerd dat contante betalingen daar niet meer worden geaccepteerd en dat het COVID-9-virus vermoedelijk in Wuhan is ontstaan en dat alles wat daar op het gebied van AI gebeurt, binnenkort gevolgen zal hebben voor Europa.

Trump versus Medvedev
It appears the current U.S. president has found a new opponent for online battles: after Elon Musk, it’s now former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev's answer:

Druze factions in Suwayda have taken control of Tell Hadid (West Suwayda).
They also report that the factions have foiled an attempted attack by armed tribal groups on the town of Dhibin in southern Suwayda, with no change in the control map on this front. Deaths among Syrian internal security forces (so-called government forces) reported as clashes continue.
Government-aligned media reports that the Druze factions initiated the attacks, while other sources maintain that shelling by Bedouin militants targeting the Suwayda countryside triggered the clashes. (Sham TV)

I hope you can understand the stupid American policy in the Middle East (just as they do with Russia, but in a different way). It demonstrates the impotence of the current administration, where many, like Pete Hegseth, lack experience, and Trump changes his mind daily. Meanwhile, they are guilty of creating chaos and murder in the Middle East. Trump said: no wars, no involvement, but he immediately did so, but that was predictable. That's the US, clinging to global hegemony and stupidity.
The tensions in Syria between the Kurdish SDF, which receives US support, and the HTS government in Damascus (which receives support from the US). The US-backed SDF is also under pressure from Turkey, an American ally. The SDF also has a strained relationship with the US-backed Kurdish KRG authorities in neighboring northern Iraq. These pro-US KRG authorities are also at odds with the US-backed Iraqi government in Baghdad. There is also growing fear among the US-backed Lebanese government that there is increasing danger from the east, posed by the HTS government in Damascus, and from the south, by Israel, America's most important ally. Lebanon fears that minorities in Lebanon could be attacked by external forces, just as recently happened in southern Syria when forces loyal to Damascus, supported by the US, launched an attack on the Druze minority, who receive support from Israel, America's ally. The government of Jordan, a US ally, has also called for calm in neighboring southern Syria.
