NEW: The FBI has launched an investigation after 18-year-old Anna Kepner mysteriously died on a Carnival cruise ship.

Kepner was a high school senior from Titusville, Florida and made multiple posts on TikTok shortly before she passed.

"She loved being around people. She had that type of energy that just drew you in with her smile and the way she carried herself. She was such an easy person to talk to," the family told ABC News.

Authorities have released very few details on her passing.

"The medical examiner did not release a cause of death, but says the 18-year-old died at 11;17 a.m. on Friday, the day before the ship docked in Miami," reported TODAY.

"They were very specific with the time. And that part is a little peculiar," said former Chief of the Miami Police Department Jorge Colina.
