🇺🇸🚨 Minnesota State Lawmaker assassinated in politically motivated killings
Hundreds of law officers fanned out across a Minneapolis suburb Saturday in pursuit of a man who authorities say posed as a police officer and fatally shot a Democratic state lawmaker in her home in what Gov. Tim Walz called “a politically motivated assassination.” Authorities said the suspect also shot and wounded a second lawmaker and was believed to be trying to flee the area.
Democratic former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were killed in their Brooklyn Park home. Sen. John Hoffman, also a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette, were injured at their Champlin address, about 9 miles (about 15 kilometers) away.

Virginia: One of the worst phone calls to receive at 3:40 in the morning as a Sheriff is from your Communications Center informing you that one of your deputies has been injured in a vehicle crash.
Early this morning, while conducting a traffic stop and completing a summons, our deputy was struck from behind by a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel. He was seated in his cruiser at the time of impact.
Thankfully, the deputy has since been treated and released from the emergency room and is now home recovering.
This incident is a stark reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers face every day—even during routine duties. I’m incredibly grateful he’s okay, and I continue to be proud of the dedication and professionalism of our entire team.
