Virginia: One of the worst phone calls to receive at 3:40 in the morning as a Sheriff is from your Communications Center informing you that one of your deputies has been injured in a vehicle crash.
Early this morning, while conducting a traffic stop and completing a summons, our deputy was struck from behind by a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel. He was seated in his cruiser at the time of impact.
Thankfully, the deputy has since been treated and released from the emergency room and is now home recovering.
This incident is a stark reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers face every day—even during routine duties. I’m incredibly grateful he’s okay, and I continue to be proud of the dedication and professionalism of our entire team.

🇮🇷🇮🇱 Iran's energy infrastructure situation right now:
1. Iran's South Pars gas field struck shutting down 12 million cubic meters of gas production per day
2. Shahran oil field in western Tehran on fire after Israeli strike
3. Israeli strikes hit 2 oil depots in Tehran setting them on fire
4. Iran says production at world's largest gas field has been partially suspended due to Israeli strike
5. Multiple oil refineries in Iran are reportedly on fire
📝 CIG Analysis: The 2007-2008 Oil Spike, when the highest cost of oil in history was achieved, was due to tensions with Iran and spillover from the then raging Iraq Insurgency. Many economist now blame this spike as the catalyst which initiated the Global Financial Crisis in 2008 as mortgage owners were unable to sustain both their payments and absorb the rapid increase in energy costs.
With direct strikes on energy infrastructure now taking place on both sides amid a deteriorating U.S. fiscal picture, is history going to repeat itself?
