Today I am announcing the official end to WildFyre will take place at the end of this year (Dec 31st) at which point I will be shutting down services related to WildFyre which I own

My intention here as well is to make sure @laurent_treguier is properly prepared, as well the recommendation here would be to use Fyreplace from here on out

It's been a blast, wish we could've done more for you all, and I hope this will give you all enough time to capture/save any related data from WildFyre that you wish

If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to me

The next iteration: Plag → Sola → WildFyre → Fyreplace
Use Fyreplace. Link below Highly recommended. It's inspired by one of the best and long buried social media apps called Plag**/Sola. No followers, just random content. Inspiring, thought-provoking, funny. Great community.

Howdy there new folks coming in 👋
For anyone wondering what Fyreplace is, it's a reimagining of WildFyre, which was itself inspired greatly by Plag/Sola.
The app is in public beta, links are here if you're interested: https://fyreplace.net

As tensions escalate between the Wagner private military force and the official Russian military, one can't help but think of the civil war that erupted in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (described here: https://crimethinc.com/Sudan).

This is where militarization leads. As governments and corporations are relying more and more on brute force to suppress social unrest and channeling more and more resources towards police and private security towards that end, they are creating the conditions for horrific civil wars on an ever-widening scale.

This gives us another lens through which to read the events of January 6, 2021 in Washington, DC (see https://crimethinc.com/January6). It also drives home the importance of the fight to #StopCopCity and block the militarization of the police.
