The digital age has dramatically altered our sense of self-worth, especially for those in creative fields. Market-driven value systems, powered by algorithms and metrics, have reshaped how we evaluate art, work, and life itself: Sales figures, online reviews, and social media engagement. The constant pressure to quantify and rank artistic worth mirrors a broader societal shift—where even leisure, friendships, and inner experiences are subjected to numerical evaluation.
Intrinsic value is replaced by exchange value. This transformation extends beyond artists to everyone, as data collection technologies now quantify even the most personal aspects of our lives.

Although the market can drain one's inner resources, creativity remains a renewable source of self-worth, offering a path to reclaim what’s been lost.
Our challenge is to protect and regenerate our internal sense of value, resisting the overwhelming pull of external validation.

I find it super concerning that so many people don't seem to understand how machine-learning works. It feels like the "blockchain in my toaster" or "I've made a sql-database and call it x-coin" or "I have created this NFT that is very valuable and not fungible, trust me bro"-era repeats itself.

On this day, 1 October 2020 two members of the al-Huwaitat Indigenous tribe in Saudi Arabia were arrested for criticising the Saudi government and its NEOM development project on social media. One of them was detained outside the Fahad Bin Sultan university in Tabuk. Numerous other members of the tribe had also been arrested, harassed and even killed.
