A team from the Robotic Systems Lab at ETH Zurich has developed Barry →, a dynamically balancing quadruped robot optimized for high payload capabilities and efficiency.
With a new leg design, Barry can handle unmodeled payloads up to 90 kilograms while operating at high efficiency. Its custom actuators enable the robot to use bigger motors, making it highly efficient and cost-effective.
While Barry currently lacks advanced perception, researchers are focusing on adding intelligent navigation and exploring potential commercial applications.

The startup intends to conduct over 10,000 test flights using around 100 new P2 Zips this year.
