😱 India — game over?


Since August 22, all real-money gambling is banned in India: casinos, slots, poker, rummy, fantasy sports. The ban also covers all financial transactions and any form of promotion. Violators face up to 3 years in prison and fines of $150,000.

✔️ But here’s the “good” news: the law has been signed, yet it’s still unclear when full enforcement will actually begin.

The legal situation remains uncertain: offshore gambling operators are exploiting a loophole — the law doesn’t explicitly prohibit the activity of their local representatives.

😂 Disguised as IT companies, platforms like 1xBet, Parimatch, and others continue serving Indian users.


Meanwhile, new emerging markets are opening up: 

🔸Equatorial Guinea has officially legalized online casinos and bookmakers. A Cypriot firm, Mascott Capital Partners, was brought in to manage licensing and provide IT infrastructure.
🔹Uganda has launched a new regulatory authority to oversee lotteries and gambling.
🔹Rwanda has resumed licensing after a one-year pause and is now accepting new applications.
🔸Paraguay is opening its betting market by ending the monopoly. In 2026, the government plans to select two licensed operators through a tender.
