Extended Vault Shares (XVS): Launch Plan

We’re releasing XVS next week. Rollout will happen in multiple stages.

Monday, Dec 8: Release Begins
- Extended Vault stops quoting for the release window
- Vault deposits and withdrawals are paused
- Core components are released in preparation for XVS

Tuesday, Dec 9: Launch Day
- All users with a positive vault balance receive XVS in a new sub-account (Vault Balance)
- XVS can be used as margin for trading on Extended
- Vault trading, deposits and withdrawals are re-enabled

We expect the release to complete on Tuesday, but the window may extend up to 48 hours.

XVS upgrades after launch
- 1 week: 50% XVS equity contribution + extra yield based on user activity (on top of base yield)
- 2 weeks: 75% XVS equity contribution
- End of year / early next year: 90% XVS equity contribution

Example
- At launch: $100 of XVS, earning Base yield only = $25 collateral
- Target state: $100 of XVS, earning both Base and Extra yield = $90 collateral

XVS yield explained
- Base yield (~15% all-time APR), earned by all depositors
- Extra yield based on trading activity: the more active you are, the higher your APR.

Vault Deposits & Withdrawals: Temporary Freeze

On Monday, Dec 8, we are starting the release of XVS (Extended Vault Shares). As part of the rollout, Extended Vault deposits and withdrawals will be paused starting tomorrow for up to 48 hours.

The Extended Vault just evolved

Introducing XVS: Extended Vault Shares that turn your vault deposit into yield-bearing collateral.

Trade on Extended exactly the same way you do on any perp DEX, while earning >15% APR on the same capital.

Over the coming weeks we will:
- Scale XVS contribution to Equity and Available Balance up to 90%
- Launch XVS Extra Yield on top of the Base Yield, where APR increases with user activity. The more you trade, the higher your yield.

Breakdown at launch:
- XVS contribution to Equity: 75%
- XVS contribution to Available Balance: 25%

XVS contribution to Available Balance has been increased to 50%.

A new mobile version has been released:
- Simplified overall app navigation to make it smoother and more intuitive
- Improved trade flow and upgraded tables

Vault Extra Yield is now live with 7d APR 27%

With this update, total XVS yield comes from two structurally different components: Base Yield and Extra Yield.

Base Yield is earned by all XVS holders, proportional to their balance, and accrues continuously through changes in the XVS price. It is generated by activities performed by the Extended vault, including market making, performing liquidations, earning maker rebates, and receiving a small share of exchange fees. Historically, Base Yield has ranged between approximately 5-15% APR, depending on market volatility and liquidation activity. This yield is earned regardless of whether a user actively trades.

Extra Yield is fundamentally different. It is paid daily only to active traders through XVS accrual to the main account and is sourced from a share of net exchange fees. Passive depositors do not receive Extra Yield by design, as this prevents dilution of active traders’ returns. Extra Yield depends on the user’s trading league, which is determined by trading points and reassessed weekly. The higher the league, the higher the yield multiplier. In the first week of the Extra Yield launch, Kings (the highest league) earned ~27% APR in Extra Yield on top of Base Yield.

Last 7 days total APR including Base Yield is 30.86%, while your vault deposit remains part of your trading equity.
