Just an idea btw but maybe the European Union as part of its ongoing ai watermarking/anti-disinformation campaign should probably consider regulating advertisement in a way where if you are generating an ad for a product without showing the actual product then you could get fined for misleading customers
"But how can they check if that's the case?" same way they do it with taxes, they can show up and ask you to show them the making of, the storyboards or whatever was used to make it
"Yeah but this will put us in a disadvantage compared to other countries" you could apply line of thought that to literally any regulation we have, the goal of regulations should be to make the life of citizens better, if you only focus on the economy you are doing this wrong
if we are letting businesses move people back to the office in part in order to keep the other businesses like restaurants etc near offices alive and well then we can pass regulations to both protect creatives and consumers
and if there is a time to strike back at huge greedy mega corps while they are down that's probably right now lol

the way this could be enforced could be mostly dictated by proof of work more than anything: I don't think we should outlaw renders or artistic representations of objects, just make sure we don't allow slop to conquer every facet of art and advertisement
