اجرای خیابانی سرود تاریخی «مردم متحد هرگز شکست نمی‌خورند» در اعتراض‌های گسترده مردم شیلی علیه دولت دست‌راستی این کشور و گرانی و نابرابری اقتصادی

داستان گذار طولانی شیلی به دموکراسی

«مردم متحد هرگز شکست نمی‌خورد»، را سرخیو اورتگا، آهنگ‌ساز شیلیایی، در سال ۱۹۷۳ بنابر یک شعار خیابانی ساخت.
این سرود، نخستین‌بار با همراهی ویکتور خارا، ترانه‌سرا و آهنگ‌ساز شیلیایی، در یک کنسرت پرجمعیت اجرا شد.
همان سال، دولت چپ‌گرای سالوادور آلنده با کودتای آگوستو پینوشه سرنگون شد.

خواندن این سرود در دیکتاتوری دست‌راستی پینوشه در شیلی ممنوع بود، اما در جاها و شیوه‌های گوناگون در سراسر جهان اجرا شد.

ازجمله کنفدراسیون‌دانشجویان‌ایران، تشکل چپ‌‌گرای دانشجویان ایرانی خارج‌‌از کشور در دوران پهلوی، بنابر همین سرود و خواندن شعری از «سیاوش کسرایی» بر روی آن، سرود «برپا خیز» را ساخت.
