Should I watch HOTD with my roommate while he watches GOT?
For context, my roommate started GOT with his girlfriend in February of this year and they haven't even made it to the red wedding, but they insist they're still watching. He refuses to watch any episodes with me instead of his girlfriend. I at least want to watch some GOT content with him before we move out in a year or so. I thought watching HOTD would be fun but im not sure if it would ruin anything in GOT for him. I know there's no spoilers, I've seen the show, but I've never seen it before finishing GOT, you know? What do you guys think?

If Arya learned one thing from every big player she was around, what would she have learned from each of them?
For example, what did she learn from her time with Tywin?

How do houses truly die out?
I’m curious if someone can explain to me how a house could truly die out (outside of conquest or a more powerful house deciding they were no longer a house) when most houses have a number of cousins even if through a female line. Assuming the house is at least a couple hundred years old it stands to reason they would have a number of branch of the family that are in other noble houses that if the main line died off the ruler of the house could be a distant cousin, which has happened before.

People think AGOT fights are grounded in realism (it's not), when the fights are literally flamboyantly-over the top (ASOIAF is Epic Fantasy, not grounded in realism)

they did tywin wrong
(idk if this counts as a spoiler)
First off am I weird for tywin being one of my favorite characters, I actually enjoyed his dynamic and character.
I feel as if he was one of the characters we were supposed to route for until he tried to have his own son killed.
And then they stripped him of all dignity by being shot dead on the shitter.
I didn’t have enough time to hate him between realizing he was gonna go through with killing his son and him dying. I was actually disappointed. anyone else or just me 😅
