Just watched 3x09, wow.
It's my first time watching game of thrones and I really didn't expect this plot twist, my friend who has already watched told me that every season's 9th episode was the most antecipated one and I can see why. I though the series was building up a big clash with the Lannisters vs the Starks at king's landing but now I have no idea where will the series head on from now on, I'm really excited about it but I'm watching it slowly, one episode a day.

Making the giants in Game of Thrones practical instead of 100 percent CGI was a great move. It made them more memorable.

Why does Cersei not have guards with her when she goes to visit the faith?
Through out the whole show she always has her guards with her. There is even a scene where she shows off she can control them to do what she wants where she has them spin around.
Why is it when she visits Margery in her cell in season 5 to gloat she comes completely unguarded? She then speaks to the sparrow by herself and he predictably turns on her and imprisons her. She knows their antics as they have now done this twice to her enemies.
I suppose you could chalk it up to hubris. She is arrogant and vain but she’s not an idiot? And going to back to her always having her guards with her who do whatever she says why would she not bring them now leaving the red keep into essentially the most dangerous place she can visit?

Do you think Catelyn’s opinion on Jon Snow would have changed if she knew the truth about his parentage?
I saw a TikTok comment saying that even if Catelyn knew Jon was Lyanna and Rhaegar’s son (and not Ned’s), she’d still “hate” him — not out of spite, but because she’d fear what his claim could mean for her own children’s safety.
Do you think that’s true? Would knowing the real story have changed anything for her, or would her loyalty as a mother always come first?

Hound.
I just watched the complete series of Game of Thrones. 52f.. In my defence, I was only diagnosed and medicated for adhd earlier this year , so before that I was always distracted. The last series was completely taken over by showing off special effects and the writing suffered to accommodate. But .. it did not take away the sadness of Hound dieing. He was my favourite character and I have no one to share this with because Im a bit late to the party 😅.

Made a game of the GoT books
Wanted to share my version of fan fiction. It's completely
free to play. It's kind of like a text adventure and takes place in King's Landing
You play as a noble from a lesser house. Lots of politics is the vibe i'm going for here.

p.s. Also absolutely any feedback is appreciated!

Do you think just making several miles long circular drains filled with oils, would have helped northerners to kill wights and walkers easily. Then nails made of dragon glass on ground that will act as land mines. And then all the archers available having dragon glass arrows.

Why was the most obvious Purple Wedding suspect overlooked?
By which I mean Oberyn.
So the guy is a known poison expert with a notorious hate boner against the Lannisters, shows up to the capital for the first time in years, stabs a Lannister soldier and threatens Tyrion. The next day the grandson of Tywin Lannister dies by poison. Yet all he gets is minimal questioning and then the role of judge right after.
I get it, Tywin didn’t care who actually did it, he was glad to have Joffrey out of the way and now was gonna use this to get rid of Tyrion too.
But Cersei? For all her faults, she loved her kids. She would have absolutely gone to hell and back to find the culprits and punish them. And yet nobody considered more than one culprit.
Tyrion was a convenient suspect and Sansa disappearing right after is also suspicious (although what part could she have played in this really?). The Tyrells (despite being the actual culprits) were not high on the list seeing as how their (grand)daughter being queen was on the line.
So who exactly are we left with as potential accomplices? And how come nobody considers the most obvious one?

Watching Game of Thrones for the 1st Time (I really don’t like this decision/fate for one character in Particular)
The character in question is Rickon Stark. Like I do not agree with the decision to kill him off or how it was done for that matter. I’m legit typing as I watch this scene feels so purposeless to me. I actually really just kind of hate this decision by the writers. Idk I just feel his death is so unearned! Like where’s the build up at the very least? I feel they played this all wrong! Like what is this kid 12-13? Either way I feel like at the least they should have given us some type to get attached to him he’s been gone forever like could we have at least gotten to know him as he is now before killing him off?
I would have preferred a whole season of Rickon as Ramsay’s prisoner with actual scenes & characterization to reestablish him as a person before killing him, not Theon levels of torture but at least something like he’s just here and gone in a span of like 2 episodes it’s such a waste! Idk maybe he’ll get an emotional funeral at the least but as of now I feel the writers really dropped the ball with this character & there was potential for a really good storyline that I feel has been completely shitted on now I’m finna continue but I feel theirs been a significant drop in the storytelling aspect of the show since Season 5.
Am I alone in this opinion? I felt the kid had potential for a really good little side story & the writers just fucked it up to me.
